I am going to Cubs vs Astros game Tuesday evening in Chicago. Where should I go before the game in Wrigleyville to get the whole experience?

I went to Harry Carey's place for a good burger and beer before an Astros game a couple years ago. Ernie Banks was there just hanging out and visiting with people.

I lived up there for a couple years...

Best pre-game party scene...Murphys, which is directly behind the bleachers of wrigley...they have takeaway food...

Goose Island - great food and craft beers which is near the main gate..but more family oriented

Cubby Bear - decent music, ok beer, but usually more of a post game place

Yak-zies - has a good open air beer garden...with above average wings

Sluggers - usually packed, lot of people like it, but I prefer Murphys

make sure that you bring your smartphone and constantly ignore the baseball game to text/chat on it so that you'll fit in with all the yuppie posers at Wrigley.

On a Tuesday?

Murphys :See previous post:
Sports Corner: Down the street from Murphys
Dark Horse : Really great Beer Garden
Houndstooth Saloon : University of Alabama bar....
Lucky's : Great sandwhiches
Sluggers : they have batting cages which are fun but bar is so-so.

There are literally scores of bars and restaurants in the direct vicinity of Wrigleyville that offer the gamut of pre-game experiences and nearly all are busy prior to Cub games. Just depends on your preferences.

I like Murphy's Bleachers, Vines on Clark and an Irish pub called the Oaks are something similar.

Post game, if the Cubs win...Sluggers is my favorite choice.

Cubby Bear is my least favorite. Too loud and full of obnoxious posers.
