What a shitty thread.
Leaf should be someone we are praising. America is all about 2nd chances.
This guy has been to the lowest of low places and has finally dug himself Out is that grave.
He should be supported.

Then don’t watch, old man.
There are other places you can hear people talk about college football.

Not at all, of course they should get more chances, but NOT at a coveted job like that, where there are hundreds of other ex-athletes that deserve a shot over someone who had so little respect for the game, his teammates, himself and above all the fans!!
That is my opinion, but my opinion only matters to me and I know that! Just wish I had say in the matter, but I don’t so you will probably see him again

Leaf was a good college QB. Just because he sucked in the NFL doesn’t mean he can’t talk college. What a strange strange melt
You would think comprehension would be something you never have to talk about on a “college” message board assuming that most be on the board either have a college education, attending college currently or at least spent time in college. And if you thought that, this post is proof you would be wrong!
I never said he was not able to speak intelligently on the subject matter, and I never said he didn’t have a good college career. What I said were the “deciding” factor in my opinion was the fact that he was “belligerent to reporters- a bunch from ESPN, belligerent to his teammates and to the fans, you couple that with his multiple arrest for drugs and his drug addiction and this is the guy you want espousing football and sportsmanship to one of your sons???? You can have him!!!
There are way too many ex-athletes that were better than him in their playing days, respected the game, fans and teammates and the LAW, and they would be better suited for that job!
Simple as that

I'm sure he brings more to the table as a college analyst than you're crying about.
Got a great idea, why don’t you hire him to coach your kid and teach him about sportsmanship and being a good teammate! lol lol lol

And your sons have no idea who Ryan Leaf is or that he was mean to some people. His prior drug addiction will probably come up but if you’re scared that your kids are going to turn into drug addicts because a prior drug addict is talking about college football, you need to grow some stones. It’s going to be alright, old man.
If you’re that worried about your kids seeing Ryan Leaf on TV, you’ve got some big problems ahead of you.

No. You want your analysts to be good analysts. Whether they were good players or not is irrelevant.
Otherwise, wouldn’t the players only broadcasts have been incredible? They were all great players.

That's a plus.
And let's face it, you are extrapolating from 1 infamous clip.

None of you fat asses on here played in the NCAA or NFL. Does that disqualify y’all from speaking on it as well?

Ryan Leaf is more qualified to be an announcer for ESPN than you are to post on this board

Current Ryan Leaf? I would in a heartbeat. The guy has turned his life around and should be applauded for that

That is the whole point, why give a washed out, convicted drug addict, with a history of verbally abusing reporters and fans a coveted job like that
ESPN wanted a white version of Michael Irvin
