Umm, he missed 2 straight clutch FTs. That is the definition of choking.
That doesn't refute my point. He wins games sometimes. Tonight he lost one. Same for LeBron, Kobe, Dirk, and everyone else. That doesn't make them a choke artist. If they miss the shot, ok. It's the fear of taking the shot and tendency to disappear late in the game that is the largest cause for concern. LeBron displayed that his last year in Cleveland/first year in Miami but he has since corrected it.

But you see no such threads after a Thunder loss about Kevin Durant. Ever. The two do not get the same treatment from the public or media, and it's pathetic.
That would be because Durant has already had multiple clutch quarters/shots. You don't have to hit every shot but you have to hit at least a couple.
Before last year, Lebron would disappear late in games and would either pass the clutch shot to someone else or would miss it. Then last year, Lebron had a couple big 4th quarters and won the championship. Hence people have backed off him this year.

LBJ had hit plenty of clutch shots and dominated plenty if 4th quarters prior to last year. The finals against the Mavs made every forget about them. He had game winners in the playoffs against the Wizards, Pistons, and the Magic. That Pistons game he scored like 40 of his teams final 45. People just overreacted to him playing bad in one series.

take away the NBA carefully instructing their officials to roll out the red carpet to the free throw line for Durant and he is nothing more than a glorified, jump shooter who can sell a lot of merchandise for them.

He missed two free throws, who cares?
He's fricking awesome.
He's fricking awesome.

Your head must hurt from your brain rolling around.

Durant has disappeared in more end of game situations than LeBron ever did I'd bet. Over the last couple of playoffs teams have simply denied Durant the ball over the last 5 minutes of the game. But everyone blamed Westbrook for not passing Durant the ball, when the blame should have been on Durant for not working harder to get the ball. LeBron never had that luxury in Cleveland.
quote:He still does this, and no one cares. Jordan passed to Kerr. Passing in the late game is not a bad thing. It's a good thing. The open shot is nearly universally the best shot.
would either pass the clutch shot to someone else
quote:LeBron has one of the best FG% in late game situations of anyone. In game winners, he has roughly the same FG% as everyone else.
would miss it
Also, I'd like to point out that just because LeBron was unfairly crucified doesn't mean that Durant should be. Most people are dealing with Durant correctly. He could receive a bit more criticism, but no reason he should have to go through the bullshite LeBron went through.

Jesus, player specific nba threads bring out absolutely the worst, most petty, bitter, and just plain immature side of so many posters.

Potentially the dumbest post I've ever seen on the MSB. And that's saying something.

Nothing really to do with the game. He is a huge Lebron fan so he was referencing how after a Heat loss(mainly lbj's first 2 years in Miami) there would be 50 threads talking about how Lebron was not clutch and could never win the big one. But you see no such threads after a Thunder loss about Kevin Durant. Ever. The two do not get the same treatment from the public or media, and it's pathetic.
No it was accurate. Though your description of history is off. The main complaint of Lebron was he wouldn't even take the last shot or be the one at the free throw line. That's not the situation anymore but that's how it used to be.

You shouldn't believe everything the media tells you.
This is definitely not true.
