Day does less with more than any coach in America.

better recruiting situation

I think FL is a much better state to recruit in than tOSU's footprint.

Ohio State recruits well nationally and the state produces a lot of talent with little competition.

I mean, that’s pretty damn good. His only problem is losing to Michigan, which is unlikely to happen this year.

Huh? Who the frick are we getting better than Ryan Day? He's undeniably one of the top 6 or 8 coaches in cfb. Basically doing the same as Urban except he's losing close games to great teams instead of getting blown out by Purdue and Iowa.

Is he really?

What was handed to him out talents most programs but when talent meets talent he’s outcoached or he crumbles in the moment. Or just doesn’t know the rules, apparent in his last game. His record shows that.

So, is he really?

There are some great coaches out there who do not have what he has at their fingertips.

Imagine their success with equal talent?

Hell, he isn’t even the best coach on that staff. That’s Chip Kelly.

If he loses to this year’s Michigan team, he deserves to be fired

Napier is a program builder.

Like Butch?
quote:

He’s not flashy or exciting

Or smart. There are things he's said and done that have left fans and former players bewildered. Miami came out and said that his playcalling was completely predictable. Biggest staff in CFB and yet he can't even red-team his own tendencies? That is retard level coaching and theft.

quote:

but he does things the right way and will establish a culture Florida can be proud of.

That "culture" failed to develop some of UF's best players and they left and are now having great seasons at other programs. Every time you see someone defend a coach based on "he does things the right way" that's code for "he doesn't win games". It's not too much to ask to do things the right way and win. After all, he's getting paid more than $7M/yr and has gotten more infrastructure improvements and investment than any coach in UF's history, by a wide, wide, wide margin. In return he has been a complete embarrassment.

quote:

He took over a program that had zero discipline and off the field problems for a decade or more.

And in year 3 they still can't get the right number of people on the field. Also, for all those problems UF had, they still won the East 3 times. Napier has UF in the bottom tier of the SEC now. UF would probably be an underdog to Vandy if they played this season.

quote:

He isn’t the greatest play caller, but if he gets 5 years they will be an extremely tough opponent.

He's running a football program, not building a nuclear power plant. If it takes someone 5 years to turn something around, that's about 3 years too long. He has proven that he doesn't develop players, his game management is bad, play calling is bad, staff management is bad - his two OL coaches are atrocious. Ignored special teams for two years and it was awful. Brought in a guy and it got better, and yet somehow they still can't get the right number of people on the field.

Napier sold UF some wolf tickets to get that job. He should have been fired last year when he had FSU on the ropes and completely shite the bed at halftime. When you're the coach at UF and you look like and act like you're on sedatives at halftime of the FSU game, you gotta go.

His record sucks, his home record is an embarrassment, his record against rivals is even more embarrassing. Against rivals: LSU, Tenner, FSU, Georgia, Miami, he is 1-9. Likely to be 1-10 after the Cocktail Party. Could finish the year 2-11 if he splits with LSU and FSU. He's 1-2 against Kentucky. 2-12 against ranked opponents. Heupel took over a worse situation at Tenn. and he is 7-7 in big rivalry games, including two wins over Bama.

Napier should have been fired already. Same with the Athletic Director.

Not a chance in hell our cheap arse admin would ever steal a coach from a program like Ohio St.

Maybe, the problem for Day is Mike Vrabel is available. He needs to have a big year. The good new is Michigan is awful and every team this year is beatable.

Doesn't matter. I'd bet one of my testicles that our next HC will be from another midmajor. Probably Liberty or USF.

Exactly. Florida is a better state than Ohio, but Florida has to compete with Bama, Auburn, Georgia, FSU, and Miami who frequent the state. There’s a reason Ohio State has a top 5 recruiting class every year. They have no competition for in state talent and are one of the biggest national draws.
