You are undervaluing McCaffery by a lot. He's worth a lot more than a future #1.

It’s the least valued position in the league outside of specialty positions.

Only bad organizations would be even entertaining the idea to dump a first rounder for a running back (plus a payday) given all the evidence that says it’s a bad frickin idea no matter how good the player is.

No RB is worth a future 1 let alone more

Honestly I could see McCaffrey transitioning to a slot WR in the future to extend his career. That’s what makes him more valuable imo.

No he isn't. He was amazing last season and Carolina was still terrible because they had awful QB play for most of the season.

No, would be a total fleece job, Cam doesn't have the winner's intangibles to vanquish opponents, he's become soft as the seasons progressed plus injury prone

Giving up a 1st round pick to get a RB that you're going to have to pay $16+ million per year is a terrible move.

I don't know PJ, look at the great RB's post 1978 when the first changed the rules to open up the passing game. Emmitt Smith looks like the exception to the rule. Campbell, Dickerson, Sanders, Tomlinson, AD, all time greats, but nary a SB appearance among them.

ETA: Marshall Faulk is a good comp to CMac, he was the #2 pick by Indy but was traded to the Rams for a 2 and a 5.
