The batter certainly didn't help himself by starting the walk to first

I'll take it a little further, he is a LHB, and he started moving towards the dugout, away from 1B nearly immediately and before the ump even called it, then the ump calls it and he hops and emotes as if a bad call.

I think that traditionally that is a strike as I said earlier, and I don't care if umps miss a little bit compared to ABS as long as the pitcher executes the pitch, and especially if the batter is not protecting there.

all those American dudes with hands dutifully over their hearts for the Italian anthem . At least they all have Italian names and look the part, unlike Austin Wells lol.

No idea where your graphic comes from but it's obviously inaccurate based on the actual footage.

Pitch #8 below is the pitch in question.

Trackman does a great job of this.
then why boy just use this?

Regardless, are you under the impression an umpire from his vantage point is correctly judging the height of a 90mph slider is when it reaches the front of the plate?
Not always. But ABS 100% of the time intentionally measures the ball at the incorrect point…

But so do umpires, because they have a terrible vantage point to measure what you’re asking

This is every called strike that Mason Miller threw last year. That same pitch spot was maybe called a strike once all last year.

That isn’t true. Sometimes umpires will correctly measure the ball or strike as it crosses the plate. ABS is intentionally taking a measurement of a breaking ball at the incorrect spot. That needs to be fixed

Because you got exposed as always . It’s established the graphic you are posting measured the pitch over the middle of the plate and not as it crosses the front

It’s honestly useless for a breaking ball. Show me the actual position of the ball as it crosses the very front of the plate Lester. You are so awesome with baseball stuff just help us out

you are saying 100% of the time an umpire doesn’t see the pitch as it crossed the plate. That’s just wrong. Sigh all you want

No, just the umpire yesterday probably didn’t judge it correctly based on your image because I I had to guess the way the hitter is leaning his front knee is before the plate.

But in reality he called it a strike because Smith framed it

it sounds like you have it figured out. They are going to replace Hawk Eye with blurry twitter screen shots and call it Pridey Eye

I do have it all figured out. Simply move the ABS back to the front of the plate to correctly match the rules….Its ridiculous they changed that because “people didn’t like how it looked”

With Nola and Lorenzen going tonight, seems like an Italy win would be the optimal result for US
