“We’re not asking to get paid what the men get paid. We’re asking to get paid the same percentage of revenue shared.”

12 players per team
12 total teams
144 total players in WNBA
The WNBA loses 12 million dollars per year.

-$12,000,000 divided by 144 players

Each player owes $83,333.

So why do owners continue to own a wnba team?

How much of that $12 million is spent on warm-up t-shirts with a new Social Justice message each game?

They typically don’t longterm. These teams have been sold over and over again (mostly goes under the radar because they remain in the same city).

They expect Equal Pay
I expect Equal Product

We are at an impasse.

They'd probably be better off- the players and league both- negotiating on an individual level, rather than through a union, to be wage employees with built in bonus incentives and yearly contracts

Tax losses can come in handy.

Aren’t a few of the teams owned by their NBA counterpart?

Are we sure all of these ladies went to college? Do they not understand how businesses work? If they generated more profit, they’d make more money. Pretty simple stuff.

Draymond Green getting mad at Lisa Leslie for saying instead of spending money at the club, give that money to the wnba was funny lol.

Often times the most educated in a group are the most irrational and don’t understand how the real world works.

I love it while we're at it let's have all the WNBA players have equal contracts across the board. And not only contracts equal sharing of endorsement money.

Matter of fact let's do that across the NBA and WNBA everyone gets the same contract and same amount of money from endorsements and outside revenue sources. Ahhh equality!

I know your being sarcastic… but this is the solution… until the league becomes profitable… maybe a tier system based on years accumulated… unlike most j see this league one day succeeding… it’ll take a rival in college between two great players that carryover on to the league

FYI this might be a good time to learn the difference between revenue and profit

James Dolan (Knicks) sells New York Liberty in 2019

Atlanta Dream sold AGAIN in 2021

Las Vegas Aces sold in 2021 after being sold in 2017

Of the 12 WNBA teams, only the Indiana Fever, Minnesota Lynx, Phoenix Mercury, and Washington Mystics have NBA owners. With that said, both the Lynx and Mercury are in the process of being sold now too.
