These idiots dont have the same champion in the White House.

The league is getting or has gotten $750 million from expansion fees so it has a cash runway. How long that runway will last given player demands is a question but to say the WNBA will lose money over the next few years would not be accurate.
Ok, so the NBA can stop subsidizing them now, right?

Why is it so hard for these wanna be men to understand? Their product does not make any money and is propped up by the NBA and emotions. Bitches are lucky to get what they got.
And despite what many fools believe Clark is not saving the league or even getting it to a break even point. No one(not even women) want to watch a bunch of bull dykes play juco level basketball.

I am unaware of a WNBA team that is not in the same market as an NBA team.
I am also pretty sure that most WNBA teams share common ownership with the NBA franchise in the same market.
That means that $750 million is essentially a subsidy from the NBA.

Quick google- Las Vegas, Seattle, and Connecticut. 3/13.

What's also funny is these athlete salary gripes always pander to the public and media and dupe them into supporting them, ignoring the fact that they still make much more than the average person for playing a game.
Should Shiela, who waits tables at the local Applebee's, give 2 fricks about Caitlan Clark not making NBA salary money? No, but somehow she's duped into thinking so.

The league is about to bank when the new TV deal kicks in. The valuation of teams has increased, TV ratings are improving, and attendance is improving. Whether that is Clark's impact or what things are moving in the right direction. The CBA and a raise work with this new TV deal.
The math I did was including that TV deal. The league still only makes 115 mil after it with no other expenses (they demanded charters so there is)
Which is eliminated with a 7 mil a team salary cap if you want to count all 18 future teams

For some reason, people relate to athletes more than any other rich person. They will genuinely feel happy for someone getting a 100m+ contract, yet despise a CEO of a company that employs 10k+ people.

They even had a feminist, activist group (about 20 or so people) together in the lower bowl of the arena holding up their “pay the players” signs and chanting it loudly lol.
How can people fall for this? This isn’t organic. It’s a planned attempt to try and steal even more money that they don’t deserve from the NBA.

The league is about to bank when the new TV deal kicks in.
Do believe there are triggers that hit on certain revenue numbers that guarantee it though

If they want the pay they deserve then they would all have to take a pay cut
Posted on 7/20/25 at 12:14 pm to RollTide1987
NBA gave WNBA a platform, gave them a job and visibility domestically. That's a pretty big thing the players seem ungrateful for. They got their league, if they get significantly more money then they'll want something else, and on and on it'll go. It'll never end.
Posted on 7/20/25 at 12:26 pm to RollTide1987
Considering the WNBA is subsidized by NBA owners, the players are literally owed nothing.

It's exponentially easier to see the entertainment value most of these athletes/leagues provide (WNBA excluded for obvious reasons). That and sports is actively something in which we've all participated.
CEO value isn't as clear and much less tangible to the average joe.
They both provide value.

If I were an owner, my argument is I’ve been subsidizing you for 30 years, it makes no sense to know give away all of the new profit, I have to recoup my entire investment.
The top players are absolutely underpaid, but outside of like 5 women, the rest of the league is overpaid

They should print that out, hang it in each of their lockers along with a sign saying thank for playing in your last game…..adios
Posted on 7/20/25 at 1:06 pm to RollTide1987
They should go on strike and see if anyone notices.
