I've seen talk of going straight to playoffs with the current 16, 20 team group stage deal

What am I missing about if the roles were reversed. Spell it out for me baw

Kilroy is correct. Why would pelican fans be upset is the roles were reversed? So far no plan proposed swaps out the Grizzlies for the Pelicans. Plans I like either include both or give both an opportunity to earn in. If we were in the Grizzlies' shoes why would I have an issue with that?

The season wasn't over. Why would anyone be upset that teams that had a chance to get into the playoffs, have an opportunity to to get into the playoffs?

Well Memphis would be involved in that play in process obviously lol

You think the nba is considering a mini tourney for the 8th spot while the team currently in 8 sits at home? Lol.

So the Grizzlies are upset they actually have to earn the spot, like they would have during normal times, as opposed to falling arse backwards into the playoffs thanks to a plague?

Yes I would. I don't think that makes me special. I would be advocating for this even if it wasn't the Pelicans. I don't think teams should get screwed because of things outside of their control.

There will be outliers in any group so I won’t speak for everybody

But I feel like rational people understand that the season wasn’t over and a 3-4 game deficit with the schedules that were remaining was anything but final

It’s not like they aren’t being given an opportunity to go to the playoffs. They just have to play for it the way they would have had to if the season hadn’t been ended prematurely.

I don’t see an issue with that.

Maybe (Actually, probably), but that doesn't mean it is rational or even a point worth considering in the argument. Fans aren't rational and are biased towards their own team.

and i never said it wasnt. i was merely chuckling at the pelican posters in here pointing out how fair the playin would be, im not really commenting on whether it would or wouldnt, knowing damn well they only think that way because its not their 8th seed up for grabs and that most would feel differently if it was

and yall would not be ok with this if yall were the grizzlies. come on. we all know how this would go

"the league doesnt care about small markets"

"the league put its star players over its teams"

"this would never happen to the lakers or the knicks"

that is absolutely how it would go
