don't see the need for it ... tiger came back too early and can't hit a fairway to save his life ...

I wonder what the odds are that Tiger will ask to play 18 holes with Tom so Tom can guage first hand where Tiger's game is?

I'm willing to bet that this happens. Whether it's just him and Watson, or if they have a gathering of the team before captain's picks

If those are our options, how could you NOT pick Tiger?
It's not like Tom Watson is choosing between an ailing Tiger and a sure fired name.

No, pick players who have earned it and are healthy enough to play.

Well I don't know these guys, but I'd be willing to bet it's an "honorary" thing or nothing at all. If Tiger is as arrogant as people pretend, why would he subject himself to the judgment of people he's historically surpassed many times over. As I originally said, people like to pretend that he's malingering, but he seems hurt to me. There should be a dignified way out of this for everyone. Tiger shouldn't have to "prove" anything on the course. With the exception of Tom Watson, Phil, Furyk, and Zach Johnson, that's a "b" team of players. Sorry. Rickie is hot right now, so I like his chances of contributing, but he has 1 PGA win in six seasons. But I guess "close" cuts in it this kind of play.

Just reading some scuttlebutt that "Watson will let Woods decide." Right choice on Watson's part. Woods needs to do the same and bow out.

Tom can "pick" him and then Tiger can say I don't want to be a detriment to my team with my current health, but I will gladly assist the team as a volunteer assistant captain (like Sergio did).

Woods did the right thing. Most of you couldn't buy dignity with $600M.
