They're sitting at 36-26. With 20 games left, they need to go 14-6 the rest of the way.

15 games vs playoff or playoff caliber teams.
12 home games left (8 vs playoff/caliber teams)
8 away games left (7 vs playoff/caliber teams)

Fo sho.

This isn’t the same spurs. It’s not just injuries. Late game execution has been very bad. Offensively the spurs don’t have anybody outside of LMA who can create their own shot. And LMA might be out a little while with an ankle tweak.

I'm thinking so. We've lost too many winnable games this year in the late stages of the 4th. Those are our usual cushion for a 50 win campaign. And we just don't have any rhythm whatsoever this year.

Yup. Injuries have come and gone over the past couple decades, but this has got to be the least confident I've ever been in a Pop-coached Spurs team when it comes to execution. When they're on, they look like the old Spurs, but, man, when they struggle, it's more than just shots not going down. It's an absolute comedy of mostly unforced errors, and it's reflected in our record.

Yeah, Kawhi has been out, and he's been our primary engine late in games recently, but a hallmark of Spurs basketball over this run has been that even the bench guys can be counted on to come in and execute. Not seeing that this year.

We've overused the Baker's Man. Playing him out of position/too much is taking its toll on the Aussie. Naturally, he's an energetic backup SG. We've forced him (mostly out of necessity) to either be a starting PG or run way too many minutes to be a sparkplug.

Don't get me wrong--we need a healthy Leonard in the worst way. But the execution hasn't been there in his absence. At least not consistently. We've lost 4 of our last 6, and most of those losses could have been W's if we'd simply (I know, easier said than done with role players, but still) executed our basic sets down the stretch like we've grown accustomed to seeing from this franchise. It'd be one thing if we were executing well and missing potential game winners, or getting screwed over by refs, or taken down by some opposing player having an absurdly hot night. That's not what's happening. Sloppy sets, lack of court/clock awareness, live ball turnovers, poor shot selection, undisciplined defense, failure to inbound the goddamn ball cleanly.....that's the shite that's getting us beat in these close games. Kawhi or not, him coming back isn't a panacea that will fix sloppy execution.
