Will Bell's running style spread?

Could Bell's running style work with other backs or is he just a fluke? Seems like if you don't have a good offensive line you're just inviting yourself to get blown up by a linebacker if you just sit there and wait for a hole to open. In any event, it was pretty interesting to watch him succeed with that style this season.

No.

You need a really good run blocking offensive line to even think about doing it.

ETA - You also need a true passing threat so there isn't more than 8 in the box 75% of the time

That's more of the game slowing down for him than anything.

he literally dances in the backfield for a few seconds before finding/choosing a hole and running forward

Yeah, he has some freakish vision/intuition that I'm guessing is tough to learn.

He has exceptional burst though. Idk of many backs besides maybe AP and Zeke that can turn it on quite like that from a jump cut.

Not many high school coaches I've ever been around would stand for that style, "Stop Dancing Around and Hit the fricking Hole" they'd yell. Which seems to be a phase a lot of 20 something year female teachers seem to yelling a lot these days as well

It's really astonishing how he's transformed himself both physically and stylistically.

He looks as lean as a wr and he was a hoss at msu.

A lot of coaches have also only ever taught it one way without exploring if another way may be better.

Bell's style reminds me of Walter Payton.

Only if other backs are as awesome as he is.

He is "tip toeing" which goes against everything an RB has been taught. He runs every play like a back running a screen pass.

Few running backs have his vision, patience, power or athletic skill. And even fewer play behind an offensive line like the Pittsburgh Steelers. Of the players I have been watching, only Derrius Guice looks remotely like this.

Nah you would need a good Oline to not get blown up in the backfield and a good passing game to not have the D load up the box.

As an LSU fan, is there somebody else I should be watching? You are free to list someone else.

ETA: Since I am a fan of both teams, I kind of been focused on them.

Joe Addai had kind of a similar style.

Would he be better by just hitting the hole quicker?
