First of all, I didn't say any of that about Romo. I actually think he's good, but better than Luck? Not in my opinion.
See here
It's incredible Luck is so successful with his cast of frickups
quote:His offensive line whiffs half the time, his running backs do absolutely nothing, and his WRs lead the league in drops by a large margin. They have 35, while the next team has 24
But now that Luck wins probably the 2nd worst division in football and while being a turnover machine, he's "heroic."

Abso frickin lutely. See, God gave me this unique ability to think for myself. I have this weird ability to watch a shite ton of football since I was like 5 years old and realize that no one on that list you mentioned is above reproach. I've watched each one of them shite the bed several times, and I've also seen Romo make just as many great plays, and pretty consistently might I add. I have no reason to believe he can't get it done being blessed with similar situations as any QB you call elite.
I've always tried to view QB's objectively. I've never seen as much separation between him and the guys that everyone calls "elite." Not saying he's better, but in my mind he's got the experience and ability to do anything anyone on that list can do.
ETA: and I would love nothing more than for him to finally get that ring so that he can finally, hopefully receive just half the credit he deserves.

No doubt. We shouldn't take what type of offense someone runs into account.
Kirk Cousins = tGOAT
Cousins has 204 attempts this year, all the other QBs being mentioned are around 500 attempts. Try again, perhaps?

Well considering the trend to hamstring the defense in order to allow monster passing numbers, to those who have no perspective they will think he is.

I Think Rodgers got too late of a start to eventually be called GOAT.

OK, so 180 or more than Cousins. Efficiency is more important than total passing yards. How can you argue otherwise?

So if you are ok with Romo having a slightly lower YPA than Cousins because he threw 180 more attempts...
You would probably be ok with Luck having a slightly less YPA than Romo because he threw 200 more attempts..
Would you agree?

Efficiency is more important, if the numbers are comparable. Luck isn't just barely above him in numbers.. he is 1300 yards and 10 TDs. ahead of him. That is a HUGE gap.
Last year Nick Foles had probably one the most efficient stretchs of all time.
Threw 27 TDs and 2 Ints with a 9.12 YPA.
Who was better. Him or Peyton Manning?

Sure, but I would factor in turnovers too if we're arguing who's having the better season. I don't think YPA is the definitive stat to gauge a QB, but I do think it's better than total passing yards.
I would use a per attempt(passing & rushing) to see how their numbers stack up with regards to turnovers. Maybe Luck is better, I haven't run the numbers.
ETA: No, I don't think Foles is better than Manning. Although, he did have an outstanding season, with the highest QB rating in the league(don't know if he qualified though). Not surprisingly, Foles regressed this year big time, before he was injured. Manning has been consistent for years & years.

I miss Ms. Cleo
Psychic stereotype for $4.99 a minute.
She was a Jamaican psychic not actually from Jamaica...and actually not Jamaican and psychic.
(She was from Los Angeles and so were her parents)
(and she faked cancer)

rodgers wont finish with brady or montana's career accolades, nor will he have manning's career stats. however, nobody has ever played the position of qb better than aaron rodgers. for many people, myself included, that is enough to consider him the goat.
luck is the next great qb and the future of the league, but he will not be a better qb than rodgers.

Goat or not... as a colts fan, i can say that we wre fortunate to get manning, then luck. How many teams over the history of the nfl can have such luck "no pun". Off the top of my head
niners with montana/young
packers with favre/arod
colts with pman/Luck
its just rare to have that constant at qb

Think Rogers will be considered GOAT when it is all said and done. Not only does he win a ton, and put up video game stats, he never throws interceptions.
He is on another level. Better than any quarterback in the NFL.

I would think Luck finished as the 3rd greatest Colt QB ever.

No doubt. He's been very good this season. It's time for people to give him the recognition he deserves. He's a much better quarterback than he gets credit for.

It is going to be impossible to compare the success of QB's across generations. The game has changed so much. The rules have changed so much. There's no telling how much it will change by the end of Luck's career. Probably a lot.
My guess is that some people will consider him the GOAT (Yeah, I think he'll be that good), some people will consider Peyton Manning the GOAT, and some people will still consider guys like Dan Marino, Brett Favre, Johnny Unitas the GOAT.
Don't sleep on Aaron Rodgers, either. That dude is ridiculous.

I definitely think his career ends on the same level as the great of the greats. The kid is an all around great player on and off the field. It's only a matter of time.
