OK....if you want to go there we can

Titans and Jags were both solid within the past 10 years. Texans have been in the playoffs of late.

You can't use the present day argument then flip the switch and say ...oh but Giants used to be good

Luck have sex with your sister or something?

You are taking this way too personal

I just favorited this thread. I will bump it in 10 years after Luck wins a few Super Bowls

But I'm sure you and others will be around just to claim he "only did it" because Manning, Brees, Rodgers and Brady weren't around" and he "only did it" because AFC South is turrible

I thought we were comparing the Romo era to the Luck era, but we can drop that and stick with the present.

You want to say that the AFC South is a stronger division than the NFC East? Do you have any confidence that the AFC South will produce a contender outside of the Colts? The only challenger is the Texans and they have major problems.

Still confused how the NFC South got brought into the argument. Care to clarify?

ETA: Now this is the jimithing I remember. Every post filled with and to make yourself feel smarter.

Are you completely forgetting why Romo is having one of his best years? The Cowboys finally figured out he can't carry a team. Run the ball a ton, keep the defense fresh and throw play action after lulling teams to sleep.

So they figured out that they need to do what every coach since the beginning of football wants to do?

quote:

Luck has had zero running game in all three years and rarely has time to throw in the pocket.

He has the 5th longest time to pass attempt in the NFL at 2.85 seconds. He has the 2nd highest % of drives with 2.6 + to throw the ball.

He has the 7th best Time to Throw in the NFL at 2.85 seconds (Time to attempt, sack, or scramble).

He has the 9th best time to sack at 3.55 seconds

I like Andrew Luck. I don't think I've said 1 negative thing about him.

What have I taken personal? You just tried to make it personal for some reason. Deflection?

Ok? He's going to be one the best QBs to ever play. He just isn't better right now

And now you're trying to think for me. Nice.

Can we get back to the original argument that you so deftly bailed on...

Why is ranking Romo over Luck for this season laughable?

As it stands, he is second in the NFL in turnovers...behind only Jay Cutler.
And for this reason he will never be GOAT. He's about as much a turnover machine as Brett Favre was.

He had 9 interceptions last year on 570 attempts. That ties Manning's career low.

So in his 2nd year, he had an interception % of 1.6%. Peyton has a carrer % of 2.6, which he is still below this year.

Aaron Rodgers may be the GOAT. Luck is solid and Brady has to be in the argument. Peyton is showing major signs of slowing down these past 4 weeks and is one of the worst postseason qbs of all time. Favre holds the interception record by like 70.

The man with 65% completion, 286yds/gm, 1.6tds/gm, 1int/gm, and an 89 rating in the playoffs is the worst postseason QB of all time ladies and gentlemen.

Last 4 games:

73/109 (67%) for 842 yards 7 TDs/2 Ints

Passer Rating of 104 which would rank 3rd (same ranking he has now) on the year

He has a higher QB rating than Brady in the playoffs. The year he won the Super Bowl was actually his worst performance.

Brady is an all-time great, but his playoff success has a lot to do with being complimented by a top 10 scoring D on average.

The stats may look fine, but Peyton hasn't. Something is wrong.

He has played 23 playoff games. The stats average out. Humans pin-pointIng one or two horrible playoff games is what sticks out in their minds IMHO

I agree, but it is probably a minor injury that the bye week will fix. He left the last game for a bit. They are still 4-0 during that period, and he's been efficient.

His age didn't just all of a sudden hit him a few weeks ago

I'm talking about how Peyton has looked the past few weeks, not his playoff record/stats.

I hope it's nothing major. Only reason I'm concerned (in addition to the terrible looking passes he's been throwing recently) is due to a Brian Billick interview I listened to today (on Dave Dameshek podcast). He was saying QBs don't lose their arm strength gradually. It's like a cliff. I'm hoping we're not seeing that with Peyton.
