This. Promoters have ruined the sport to where the best guys rarely fight anymore. You have a similar situation in the welterweight division with Crawford and Spence. Two top 5 pound for pound fighters in the world who probably won’t be in their prime by the time the fight ever happens because of promoters, TV contracts, and their handles wanting to keep their records clean. They checks get smaller once you don’t have that belt. This is the same thing that happened to Mayweather/Pacquiao and we got a mediocre fight by the time it happened.
