I don’t get the argument for taking a quarterback over the most talented player on the board. The Cards need o line protection and another pass rusher. Why not just trade down?

They like him running KK’s offense better than they like Rosen

They see Wilson, Mayfield and Mahoney having success. They saw Lamar Jackson have some.

Maybe they want a different style of play

Because they’re desperate for a decent QB.

Problem is, he isn’t one.

If you believe he is a franchise/SB QB you take him. Having a QB trumps everything in the NFL.

You have no idea if he is or isn't.

If you took Aaron Donald and put him on the Cardinals last year they still suck balls

If you took Brady or Brees or Rodgers on the cardinals last year, you got some hope

That’s why

because they think he can be their franchise qb. i dont care that they have rosen. you HAVE to the guy you think will be your franchise qb even if you have a young qb on the roster

use this thought exercise. there is no player in the NFL who is as better than any one of his piers than aaron donald. the rams also have a solid young qb in goff. they would trade donald for mahomes in a micro second and would immediately move goff. it is what it is

I wouldn't want the perpetual loser Josh Rosen as my franchise QB either. Better to rip the band-aid off now.

If you can get a guy who you think is a franchise QB, you take him. The cardinals obviously believe he’s a franchise QB.

There is a reason the cards are a historical bottom feeder in the NFL. It so shite like this. Drafting that tiny bust #1 will be fun to watch

I would use this as a better example:

The Texans has JJ Watt AND Jadeveon Clowney and were just over .500 because Tom savage was at qb. When Watson became the starting qb, they went from wild card team to arguable Super Bowl contender.

I don’t think this is necessarily the reason.

The Bidwells being shitty owners who don’t run a good front office because they are cheap? That’s more of an answer.

If your Kingsbury getting your first shot at a head coach, are you rolling with Rosen who looked horrendous last year (whether that's completely his fault due to the supporting cast is another argument)? Or a guy in Murray who fits the prototype of exactly what he wants to do and you could trade Rosen for another pick?

Adding Bosa and Dee Ford should really juice up the 49ers edge pressure
