re: Why were all the pundits so critical of Tebow earlier in the season?

They didnt force turnovers either. WHy? Because they played a good team with a competent QB.
They scored 7 points in the 2nd half because they had to throw the ball, and Tebow cannot throw the ball.
Same thing happened when they played Detroit.
They didnt get bailed out by the other team this time. And the QB isnt good enough to come back on good teams. Bottom line.

There are only seven starting QBs in the NFL who I have ranked below Tebow.
Colt McCoy
Dan Orlovsky
Kevin Kolb
Matt Cassel
Christian Ponder
Sam Bradford
Blaine Gabbert
Every other starting QB in the NFL is better than him.

a lot of that has to do with the minnesota game when he feasted on broken coverages.
even so, he completed about 50% of his passes last year, and still sucked. He was in the low 40's most of this year, he was just playing extra crappy.

You guys have said there was no improvement, I'm just showing that there was. Not saying he's anything special.

it's more the "Every week" part, b/c he hasn't been so hot the past 2 week

They lost to the Patriots because they had 3 turnovers to the Pats none
This isn't a hard concept and there really isn't anything else to it

How disappointing that a second-year guy who was supposed to be a 2-3 year project anyway couldn't beat Tom Brady in a shootout while turning the ball over three times on their side of the field.
Only three teams actually scored more pts on the Patriots than the Broncos did if you add in the botched extra point, but this game is definitely a prime example of why Tebow sucks compared to everybody else and is holding the Broncos back.

I am not reading all pages, but wanted to make this point. I think race has a lot to do with it. Tebow is a white guy who you can say the same things about as you can many black QB's before him. "Only wants to run. Can't make all the throws. Funny delivery. Can't break down a defense." I think this has quite a bit to do with it. Especially with Cam Newton looking more and more like the real deal with "wheels"
Defenses are getting film on him. They will learn how to stop him. What happens next is important. How does Tebow counter what defenses will do to stop him?

You probably typed that response out earlier this week

I actually pretty much did in an earlier prediction thread. I basically said how he would play decently, something like 250 combined yds and 2-3 TDs, but would lose by at least 2 TDs but people will focus on how he can't win in a shootout against Tom fricking Brady.

and they won games before because their D forced Turnovers against shitty QBs to mask Tebows inefficiencies. Today, they had ZERO tunrovers.
its not a hard concept.

The 1st Q was great football by them. What in your opinion happened the rest of the game?

feels like you have a thought left unsaid here, esp how race is making people either too negative or too positive about him
FWIW I think race does color how he is perceived but that's just one of the things in play: religion, hype by his proponents, derision by his detractors, hype from his college career, and his production as a passer all play roles in what people are saying atm

Well, in the 2nd quarter the Broncos fumbled twice in four plays (Tebow once), they went 3 and out on their only other possession. In the 3rd quarter, the Broncos started one drive at their own 10, drove the ball out to their own 40 yard line before punting. After that... oh wait, that was it.
The Broncos had 2 real possessions the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters. Not exactly Tebow sucking there, just turning it over too much and the Patriots controlling the ball the entire 3rd quarter.
The Broncos lost to a good team today, no shame in that.

So the Broncos are like every other team, win the turnover battle and you probably win the game.

Sounds right to me. The Saints badly lost the turnover battle to the Rams and lost. It happens.

Yet, you only hear about Tebow's flaws, not Haine's, Orlasky(sp??) etc. every day, every week.
First off, you cannot even spell the last names of those shitty QBs. Second of all, they never get ripped because they have low expectations and are not expected to be franchise saviors. If they perform well, then so be it. If not, that sucks. There is no irrational fanbase slobbering over their every play.

People bash Tebow more than slobber over his play IMO

so in other words, they couldn't do shite. All excuses are pretty funny.

well yea, they cant play Tyler Palko, Christian Ponder, Matt Moore, Caleb Hanie, and Carson Palmer every week.
