Because they have the best revenue sharing deal outside of Notre Dame. They keep all their bowl money. They negotiated it after Big East blew up and the MWC begged them back.

Who wouldn't want to see Boise State vs Oklahoma every year? The new Nebraska vs Oklahoma rivalry?

Geography. But I think they make more sense than a lot of other teams. I'd take them over Houston.

Because the BigXII expanded east when they took West Virginia. It makes no sense to expand west now. Better to find someone closer to WV to ease some of their travel.

You guys need to take Arkansas and Mizzou. They shouldn't be in the SEC.

While not the best, ISU is certainly not shite. Definitely in the top 1/2 of the Big 12. Perhaps even #2 behind UT.

Also I agree that expansion west is moot since they took WVU.

The state of Idaho adds absolutely nothing to the Big 12. The Big 12 will basically be paying them to kick their asses on national TV.
They are basically a lesser version of BYU.

I'm no Oklahoma apologist, but I wouldn't be so bold as to say they have shite academics

Another issue not mentioned- they already took their Cinderella when they brought in TCU, and now that is biting them in the arse.

When a team is ultra-successful, they tend to build up a solid program administratively, one that might surpass a lot of Big Boy programs at higher levels. It took TCU a season or two to adjust to the Big 12, and now they are beginning to roll again.
Boise has a very solid program, and adding them into a big conference will just mean they will quickly push the lower teams down, and settle in near the top. That'd be great for them, not so great for the teams already there.

Wonder if stadium size has anything to do with it? It only holds 36,500ish.

Yes, If you are AAU then you are a pretty good school. All big ten schools except for Nebraska are AAU schools.

The SEC has Florida, Vandy, A&M, and Mizzou.
