I'm guessing Cameron is too busy coaching his own son to care about what others' kids are doing

Why doesn't John Curtis move up in classification if there is nothing for them to prove? Oh that's right. Because it gets extremely more difficult to compete let alone win it all. St. Aug beat you and they aren't even in the championship game. How bad did yall feel after the St. Aquantis arse whipping handed down to you? Brag all you want dueche nozzles. Stack the deck all you can and live through your kids glory. I find this entire thread absolutely laughable. Saying JC is anything less than college football prep is an all out lie. What happened??? Didn't get in on the recruitment and finances fast enough to get LF, Speedy, or Willis??

Youre only allowed to play up one classification. Curtis does. I hate Curtis but your post is full of retard

U High is a select school, as in more academically challenging, right?
Good players avoid that for the same reason they avoid more academically challenging schools for college.

While U-High is a select school as far as classification, the term select has little to do with academics. It basically means students that would fall in their noundries may not necessarily automatically go to that school, are paid tuition private, not gifted and talented. Such as Scottlandville, and McKinley in Baton Rouge.

U-high is kinda unique in that they are a "public" school that picks and chooses who can go there, but still requires tuition unless you are under scholarship. The magnet schools around the state are the ones who got screwed when it comes to the new system.

John Curtis didn't play all the way up to
5A when they had the opportunity. They
cherry-picked and chose 4A. ECA did choose
to play up to 5A and did very well.

Were the championships Curtis achieved in 4A
"tainted" because they didn't play the best?

You can rest assured if the split was reversed
and schools allowed to play up to any class
they chose, CURTIS WOULD NOT GO TO 5A.

Their past history proves this.

Time and time again this tired argument is brought up. Then I have to point out that when Evangel was in 5A, EVERY OTHER SPORT WAS ANNIHILATED except football. To reiterate, ECA was horrible in 5A in every sport because they did not have the numbers to compete. ECA committed all other sports to suicide when they played in 5A. The compromise for Curtis not to experience the same thing was to move to 4A with better competition for all his teams without driving them into the ground. Now you make it to where you can move up in football only, I think you see Curtis in 5A.

ETA: Nearly every coach at Curtis is either a teacher or fills some function where they are at the school a lot helping out. Imagine telling a staff of over 25 non-football coaches, "Sorry, your program is going to tank now, but football gets to play in 5A!" It's nonsense.

Well Curtis has gotten what they wanted. They've won state championships in virtually every sport since moving to 2A.

Curtis would most likely take 4a again if possible, but would go to 5a in football only if possible. Simple fact is once you get to 5a, many teams have athletes who train year round for one sport. It's hard to take guys who do football for the majority of the year and compete in other sports, even if they are good athletes.
