Why is tOSU's band still playing an hour after the game ended?

They are on the field in formation playing now. The game is long over.
Is that a tOSU tradition or does every college band do that? I've never stayed that long after a game.

Would you want to go home if you lived in Ohio?

Wisconsin does the 5th quarter.
I don't think it's unusual.

Think of it like the musicians that played on the Titanic as it sunk to help the doomed fans (I mean passengers) fears.

Cal's band does a show after home games as well, so I guess it's not that unusual.

Not unusual. A lot of schools do it.
For fans that want to linger.
USC does it too.

Living in the Midwest sucks outside of those 5 days where it is perfect weather?

Fall in the Midwest and New England is amazing. Columbus is a really fun city this time of year.

They all have good bands up there, so it’s just what they do

How else are you going to get people to come out and watch the band nerds?

January isn't in the fall.
It's 78, low humidity and a nice sunny day here.

You’re dumb. Ohio’s weather in September and October is awesome.

Those days of nice weather are incredible up there, you just wish you had the day off of work to enjoy it.

A decent amount of bands do that kind of thing. I think its dumb. I'm glad we would just play the fight song and GTFO when I was in the LSU band

I never saw that at Penn State or Alabama. Not a bad idea- if you can keep 30% of the fans in stadium traffic will be better.
