Y’all make it sound like he kicked the field goal on first down
I agree, as an OSU fan I have said he cant adjust and he is in over his head. However, that was not the case last night. They were inches from a stop that went against them on review, had a successful fake called off for a post snap whistle for the TO, lost their best playmaker, had a guy fall down, and then last drive couldnt gain any more yards. Any of the above changes slightly and they win.

Against the best defense in football.

LSU lit that D up passing. quit making excuses for the choke.
look day is a good coach no doubt but you let stroud push it downfield more like he did all night and get an easy FG. you had 2 TO's left. georgia knew they were done. you blew it.

They almost took a sack and almost had a pick on their last possession

He chokes in the big game. Perfect for tOhio State.

yeah they had no weapons all night carving up that D. GTFO. you are in denial. look i get it. you will hit acceptance phase later.
OSU was without their top 2 WRs, top 3 RBs and top TE at the end of the game last night.
I've already accepted it myself as it was an unlucky end, but what team in the country could lose that many top guys and not have a massive dropoff? For OSU to put up 40+ when all of that happened is incredible

right. which is why i said a RPO there woulda made UGA pick their poison. quick run or throw after reading box. gets you in center of field at or inside the 20. ballgame. one poster said pushit into EZ. unlesss somebodt was wide arse open. that time to develop woulda risked a sack also. that woulda been risky with limited time. and field shrinking. get 10 to 12 more in center and end it.
a quick read RPO was perfect for that situation.

That's usually what happens when you go down by four touchdowns.

I think he is soft and his teams play soft. I’ll give him credit for his team playing great last night but I see that game as the outlier in the last four years. Normally they get out physicaled against Michigan and SEC teams.

People on here are irrational idiots.

I don’t see anything wrong with running it once and throwing a screen and slant.
They were literally gashing Georgia by spreading the ball out. You don’t see anything wrong with calling 3 straight one read plays when all you need is 10 yards to win the game? Agree to disagree

This is after he told Herbstreit that he would be aggressive with his play calling.
The dumb arse run on their last first down doesn't negate that.

He called a great game. Until the last two series when he got in FG range and turtled. That’s what’s frustrating.
He’s an elite level passing coordinator no doubt. It’s pretty obvious he struggles in critical moments as a HC though.
It also doesn’t help he’s gotten pansted by Michigan two years in a row. If he loses again next year in Ann Arbor, there will be a very large contingent of the Ohio State fanbase calling for his job.

Because lots of people are reactionary and stupid.

To go w the shitty game management skills he’s a smug arse prick. His own fans hate him.

This is the definition of Monday (Sunday) morning quarterbacking.
Georgia hadn’t made a play on D all night. I think what has everyone pissed isn’t the playcalling but the fact that the plays didn’t work.
Georgia just made a couple of plays.
Run with 2 timeouts while Georgia is zero blitzing. Slant that was well defended. Screen while Georgia is zero blitzing is not a bad series of play calls.
Georgia just did something they had literally not done all night. They defended the plays well.

All I can say is if he's gonna choke in playoffs and/or big games, I hope he stays

He deserves credit for having his team ready to play. I didn’t think they had a prayer of keeping it a 1 score game. Kirby wasn’t kidding when he said OSU deserved to win. If Harrison doesn’t go out, those final 2 drives might go very differently
They should make the 12-team playoff every year going forward, but he needs scalps and to go for jugulars
You can’t overthink single moments but still wondering about his demeanor during the 2019 CFP Selection show. Orgeron’s out there telling people they’ll beat any motherfrickers they put in front of LSU and Day looked like he just saw a ghost when OSU drew Clemson and not Oklahoma
He’ll eventually get them over the hurdle, but until he does he’ll be getting the hate
quote:This is great on paper. They really do a great job of not taking weeks off and skull dragging their B10 opposition. But his problem so far is this - what’s his record against teams as talented (or close enough) as OSU? I’m not sure he has a winning record, if so it can’t be by much
He is 45-6 overall at Ohio State in 4 seasons

He just lost a game by 1 point that very few people even gave him a chance to win in the first place.
I know that it's a heartbreaking loss to Buckeye fans, but he's still a really good coach.
Meyer at OSU wasn't perfect either. He lost multiple inexplicable games. He did beat Michigan, but he beat up on them when they were mediocre/bad. He never had to face Michigan when they were an elite championship contending team.

The play calling was horrible on the last drive once they got to the 30 I believe. Run Screen that took forever to develop and got sacked
Yea that’s not even remotely close to what happened

They got to the 30 on the scramble. Ran the ball up the middle for no gain or maybe a 1 yard loss.
Threw a slant incomplete.
Tried to throw again, got flushed out of the pocket and threw it away.
They tried to move the ball with 2 straight pass plays. Most coaches probably run it 3 times and try to kick a field goal from 40-45 yards with the ball centered up. He made his kicker kick from 50 on the left hash by throwing twice incomplete
