Wasn't referencing you in particular, just replied to the first post. But he paid off his mortgage and had all of his kids out of the house, not something I would choose to do, but he wasn't really running (dribbling, if you will) away from any problems.

No he was not. I still find his situation and choice strange.

Very strange, but they breed them differently in the Pacific NW. Would make sense that he's divorced, I doubt his wife would be too happy for him to just take off on this year long, obviously dangerous, journey. And yeah gotta be a midlife crisis.
