I went to a live NHL game and had fun. I imagine it would be fun playing, but I just can't get into watching it on a regular basis, otherwise.
I like baseball and used to enjoy going to games, but it costs too damn much to go to a ML game now. Also, the season is too long, and the games are too slow to watch on TV.

Hockey- eh just never got into it
MLB- I don't have a rooting interest in any team so I don't really get into it at all. I don't hate baseball though, I'm into LSU baseball

You must really hate football. They run a 4 second play and then stand around for 40 seconds before running another 4 second play. A 3 and a half hour game with 10 minutes of action. That's not slow at all.

it is not that i dont like hockey, i just dont know all the rules and quite honestly never took the time to learn them

I loved playing baseball etc. watching its to boring IMO. I watch a bunch of LSU baseball games but not pros
if they scored 9 more goals a game in hockey I'd watch all the time

So you're saying that baseball should do more to appeal to the reality show watching housewife demographic?

baseball:
was too ADD as a kid to pay attention. excelled in football and basketball though. mainly just got bored playing it even though i was decent.
in college the baseball players were the biggest douches on campus, furthering my dislike for the sport. Now the MLB season seems too long and the players still seem like douches.
I think i'd like hockey if i went to a few games.

I didn't say that at all, what I am saying is that shows like this should not be outdrawing the World Series, nice try though.
