Why don't coaches and players ignore lockout?

In the NFL, and probably in the NBA as well, the coaches, staffs, trainers, and players all want to carry on their usual business. What I don't understand is this: why don't they just do it anyway, and ignore the lockout?
There is no way that owners can fire coaches like Belichick, Payton, etc. They'd really be powerless to stop it, and the continuance of football activities would benefit everyone involved.

Who's going to pay them? Where will they practice & play?

In the NBA, contact between players and team personnel is a $1M fine per incident.

Easy: owners own the building and lock the damn door to the training facility, and in this day in age where everyone has a video camera attached to their damn phones it's entirely too risky to go out in public and work out with coaches and training staff.

Yeah right... Not only would they be fired, but they would be blackballed by the rest of the league as well

With the amount of money involved with the NFL, I'm really surprised no one has made an offer to the PA to set up a different league. At least that would force the owners action.
