Why do LSU and Bama have such a hard time recruiting QBs?

Programs of their stature should be able to get better QBs than Jennings, Sims, Jefferson, McElroy etc. Both schools always have great receiver talent and great defensive talent to support a good QB. Right now both schools are a QB short of going on potential multiple NC runs. So what's stopping the top QBs from just going to LSU or Bama and winning multiple NCs/Heismans? Why do they choose programs like USC and Ohio State instead?

Bama has no issues with it, they sign a highly rated guy in every class.
LSU is the one with the qb eval problem.

You do think you're slightly overvaluing LSU? They're a QB away from multiple 'ships?

Alabama and LSU are not comparable in that department. Please don't.

Bama doesn't have QB problems

McElroy
Do more homework. He was one of the best QB's in Texas at Southlake Carroll. Recruited by Leach at TT until Shula gave him an offer.

Bama had a Heisman trophy finalist under center last year.

Chip Kelly had a hard on for Jennings.

Jamarcus, Perriloux, and Russell Sheppard were all five stars.

Kelly could make Jennings a good quarterback.

Knowing what we know of Jennings, I cant see him running that Oregon offense with much success, if any at all.
Either he's been conditioned to play with such hesitancy, or thats just how he plays.

They don't. They recruit highly rated QB's all the time.
Problem is, the QB's they recruit either:
1) Aren't developed properly by the LSU staff
2) Aren't the QB LSU needs for their offensive scheme in the first place.

Alabama has added the #4 pro style QB and the #1 duel threat QB over the last two recruiting cycles.
AJ McCarron was a 3-year starter from the Class of '09, won 36 games, 2 national championships, and the Maxwell Award as a starter. Not to mention the fact he holds virtually every Alabama career passing record.

And LSU has 2 really good QB prospects coming in next year (2016)

its not LSU's evaluations that are off, its their development. are they just the most unlucky staff ever to get highly rated guys who all crap out while oregon, FSU, baylor, urban meyer teams, all hit and always have competent QBing? we dont help our QBs. we expect them to be a finished product when they get here, ala mett. we dont put them in positions to be successful. we just roll out the ball and lean on our 1970s offense bc thats what miles knows and he knows he can still win 9-10 games a year doing it.

If Colton Browning played at LSU instead of ULM, LSU would have at least one more NC.
From 2010-2013 I believe LSU had assembled some of the best overall football talent on a college campus, sans the QB position.
With that much overall talent simply get a kid that can be developed to read a defense and not throw interceptions.

I have come to believe we can't do it from a coaching standpoint.

Bama?
McCarron was the only 1st team AA in 2013 for the 5 big services other than Winston, was the Heisman runner up, and the Maxwell Award winner.
Bama has the #4 PP QB from the 2014 class, and he probably would've been 1st or 2nd if he hadn't missed a year due to his sick mother or because of his injury. Bama also is bringing in the #1 DT QB in the 2015 class.
We doin fine.
LSU is also doing fine. Just had Mett. Harris is good, just gotta get him on the field.
