He had 22 points through 3quarters and then didnt play at all in the 4th. Does anybody have a clue why?

cause he fricking blows on D

quote:

He played the entire third quarter and had a handful of awful defensive possessions. Considering the Cavs were missing 40 percent of their starting lineup with Kyrie Irving (knee) and Anderson Varejao (Achilles) out, this was a major surprise. The Cavs might have played their best defensive quarter of the season while Love sat,

Normally these are just message board exaggerations but this one is not. He's been really, really bad on D this year. He was never a defensive force but it's been comical how bad he's been this year.

A couple times during the Christmas day game I thought LeBron was going to lose it on him.

Wiggins is struggling in year 1.

Love is struggling in year 7.

Kevin Love is slowly turning into Carlos Boozer right in front of our eyes.

Before he was a cav, I called him a "stat stuffer on a bad team." People demanded he was a top 5 player. Anyone like to apologize?

We're talking about a guy who is averaging 17/11(yes, down from normal) and comparing him to a guy who is averaging 12/1 and shooting 39% on a awful team.

Nobody thought he was gonna average 26ppg in Cleveland sharing the scoring with LeBron and Irving. He's shooting 6 less shots per game this year. Assists, blocks, steals, FG%, 3pt FG% is all near or above career levels.

Everybody knew he was bad on defense.

Yep... Very good on offense but Boozer level bad on defense.

or like I said yesterday it's hard for other star players to ascend to greatness next to LeBron.

Just like Bosh and Wade sucked last year and Klove was putting up gaudy numbers, playing next to a supernova dwindles star power.

It's still poor logic. If I put Lebron, MJ, Magic, Wilt, and Duncan (and other greats) on a team their numbers will all drop. But guess what improves? Their efficiency and winning percentage. Same thing here. The Cavs are on pace to win 20+ more games than last year while the Heat are on pace to win 20+ less games. Yet you are arguing about raw numbers and disregarding W/L and efficiency (which Lebron positively impacts). Your hypothesis is inherently flawed and easily falsified.

Maybe you didn't have him top 5 but EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this board that made a top 10 list had him on it. Go ahead and look it up, those threads get started weekly on the MSB. Even though he was a "stat stuffer on a bad team" there is no way you said he was worse than top 10.

Love averaged 26/13/4 on 46% shooting last season. Say what you want, but those numbers go beyond "stat stuffing." There's been a lot of talented guys that have played on shitty teams throughout the years, but you'll find very few that can put up those numbers.

Defensively, he's just not very good. He's soft in the post, and he's slow-footed in help D. I don't think he's going to suddenly transform into a good defender any time soon, so Blatt needs to get more creative with his lineups.
