well not shite. And there's nothing to even argue there since that is a black and white indisputable truth. And considering a conference schedule is 9 games and not just 2, it's kinda inevitable that a team is going to play more than just 1 or 2 of the conference leaders. Not a soul is saying an SEC shcedule is tougher by having to play UGA and Bama compared to a Big 10 schedule that includes playing OSU and Michigan. The point is that that SEC schedule will also include 7 more teams that are very likely all going to be fairly decent, with maybe only 1-2 teams at best (out of 16) being complete trash. Compare that to the Big 10 where after the top 2 or 3 you have a large handful of medocrity, followed by another handful of absolutely putrid jokes. The bottom half of the SEC would whoop the shite out of the bottom half of the big 10 every single year.

2021 was before NIL was really a thing and the transfer portal was still in its infancy. Even the following year in 2022 both of those things existed still but they weren't rampantly used and abused. I think 2023 is when you really started seeing rosters massively turn over with the portal, and the wild west of money being paid to anyone and everyone. It's only gotten worse with each passing year but I still think our titles were the last truly "legit" ones.

Cuban didn’t really start giving his $$$ until this past recruiting cycle for this upcoming season.
Bottom line is Cignetti is an elite coach and talent evaluator. If it’s so easy and all the excuses used to knock him are true, why are better paid coaches at better programs with more resources not pulling it off?

Urban brought in national recruits and a particular pipeline to Florida which has helped keep them on the map over the years

Indiana roster was older than the Green Bay Packers on average I read. These were mature men executing at a high level.

No kidding. The schedule sucks for sure, but ten years ago Stanford, Wisconsin, North Carolina and Michigan State were all good programs and all four are absolute trash now.

When it’s all said and done and the documentary on Indiana’s championship season comes out in 10 years, this is going to be the main takeaway. They moneyballed the shite out of NIL and the transfer portal with a bunch of 22+ year old players. Good on them for figuring out how to win in today’s chaotic landscape.
