These Mega donors pull the strings, they get a voice in how the program is run and get access to the program that only large money can buy.

Then they get paid back in goodwill… everyone thinks Todd Graves bought out Brian Kelly… he’ll get that back 10x in Box combo sales

When you see guys like James Franklin and Brian Kelly get canned mid season, it’s because the donors who fund the program said so. They’re basically who the AD works for.

True. And maybe it’s been like this forever, but the stark reality of every part of CFB being “for sale” is just kinda sad.

It’s like finding out a cute, modest-looking girl that you’d like to be in a relationship with does OnlyFans.

Big Cat actually had a good point, if you're very rich but not tens of billions rich you can't buy a sports team so big time college sports donor is your way of doing that.

There are so many more experiences in life or good causes, why would you dump your money into paying a coach or player? I love CFB, but Ill love it on another's dime. The whole athletic donor concept is a bit sad. Or at least, out of control.

Do you REALLY not understand? Why buy money on any form of entertainment at all? Movies, plays, books, theme parks, etc...what's the point?

For me with TAF it's two main things:

1. Retaining a respectable point total to not fret over access to quality season tickets, parking, away games, and postseason matchups. Yes, I'm well aware of the secondary market but I'd rather make a modest contribution annually to LSU to know I don't have to scour secondary sites. At the end of the day my total expense is probably a wash so I'd rather LSU get that donation vs. additional fees to SeatGeek, StubHub, etc.

2. LSU Athletics is an elite brand. It's one of the best recruiting tools for my Alma Mater and I firmly believe in the "athletics is the front porch of the university" mantra. If my contribution can play a role in LSU being a leading institution then I'm more than happy to continue.

Would you give a pallet loaded with cases of Jack Daniels to an alcoholic family?

I have never donated money to Syracuse sports, nor will I. As a general rule, I don't give money to people and organizations that have more than me.

They want to claim to be a part of the team. It's pathetic, but many get off on it.

Some even claim it as if they are part of the program. Yeah, we won a tough one.

Soon they will realize how horrendous of an roi. That nil and coach salaries are ,and a lot of programs going to be in the red and owing. Ashit ton of money to coaches they have and have fired
