Sure, the Red Sox deserve as much flak as the Astros, and there is certainly a double standard here,

Because what the saints did was a widely accepted practice and it wasn’t cheating.

The Astros cheated, and it’s going to continue to get attention throughout the season. The Astros need to stop talking about it and so does manfred. Everytime they speak it somehow makes the whole thing look worse.

What the Astros did, was being done by several other teams. That was even stated by Manfred. 6 other teams not including the Astros or Red Sox. That’s over 25% of baseball was using technology to decipher signs and then relating them in one for or another to the players.

The Astros system was the most in your face system. Much like the Saints, the Astros are not a legacy team so it’s easy to scapegoat them.

Another point that is being missed, the Red Sox were fined in ‘17 for using apple watches to relay decoded signals. The Yankees were fined for inappropriate use of the bullpen phone for relating signals.

The Astros are just the message. Get caught stealing signs with technology and this is what will happen to you.

Why didn’t these guys do these interviews 2 months ago when this came out. It seems disingenuous to wait this long then try and just pile on.

Don’t give me the spring training crap these guys are public figures who love the attention

This is a lot like the early days of Bountygate in that MLB is spoonfeeding the media a Single Shooter Theory because it's an easier narrative to control and for the audience to understand, and not have people focus on the sport's widespread toxic culture. And the media is taking it in hook, line & sinker in order to keep their cozy relationship with the sport.

The only difference is that Bountygate was a lie that was exposed eventually.

Can't wait to be a month or 2 into the MLB season so this story can just go away for the most part, and get the MSB back to normal where we don't talk much MLB.

It's amazing how the same narrative always pops up when there's widespread corruption in a sport, and how gullible we all are to accept the Official Story.

Everybody cheats in MLB: ASTROS DID IT
CTE/concussion problem in NFL: SAINTS DID IT
Everybody's giving impermissible benefits in CFB: SMU DID IT
Gambling influence/point-shaving in CBB: TULANE DID IT

I also find it interesting that the "villains" in all of these scandals are teams from Louisiana and Texas. Them damn corrupt cheating Southerners. See? It's all on them!

Right. This was after your fanbase said banging trash cans couldn’t be heard over the crowd, and couldn’t be done in time to help a batter. You bitches denied as long as you could.

So did other teams so punish them the same way you punished the Astros;

When the proof comes out, sure.
