actually, WWF took back the ratings when Mick Foley won the title. Thanks for playing though.

Yes and what was the predominant storyline during that time?

Correct answer: There isn't one.

I agree, but if you stuck a gun to my head and said pick one, I'd go with Brown. I would throw Unitas & Sayers in my top 5.

I can't say there is a true greatest in football.

And the Hogan / Stone Cold has been interesting. I think Hogan is more important going away.

It's not even close, the WWF was just another territory before Hogan. And then he did it all again for WCW a decade later.
Again, Austin was the top guy for maybe 2 years.

Jerry Rice. Records, championships and is the undisputed greatest player at his position.

I think that's the best answer. There's really no debate who the best wr is because Rice put so much distance between himself and his peers.

If you have to think about - there isn't one.

Not even Jerry Rice or Joe Montana.

Jim Brown comes the closest to that because of mystique but he doesn't really fit because of the lack of winning.

Where are you getting this 2 year stuff from? Stone Cold was the top guy from 1997(when McMahon vs Austin began) to 2001(the greatest heel turn ever at WM17) with the break in between during the who ran over Stone Cold angle. Those years not so coincidentally was when the WWF peaked.

Hogan would go up. There's no wwe without hogan today. You would be watchinf awa if verne gange wasn't an idiot and pissed hogan off. Hogan was massive. The reason there was even a monday night war was hogan in wcw and the nwo.
When nwo got old dx austin roc k and mankind won out. While Austin is best of his era...hogan was more Influential

Gordie Howe was more influential than Wayne Gretzky, Dr. J was more influential than Michael Jordan...

He had the X factor. Jerry Rice, while great, has no X.
