Not having Bama in a 4 team playoff would make the playoff a joke. FSU, AUB, and Bama are definitely in there. The fourth highly debatable. I'd probably go with Stanford.

And if you replaced Bama with lsu you would 110% be arguing for lsu to be in. I'd bet everything I'd own that Vegas would have Bama in the top 4...likely top 2. That's good enough for me.

If LSU had played the same schedule that Bama played this year I couldn't even argue for them to be in. Hell we didn't beat anybody of consequence this yet except for Auburn.

Everyone's argument seems to be that Bama gets in because the media loves them yet nobody has replied to the facts they play 4 OOC teams that did not have a winning record, 1 of which was an FCS school. The did not win the SEC or play in the title game in what was a very down year. They played the two worst teams in the East and they lost their biggest game for the West.

Florida St
Auburn
Michigan St
Stanford

And maybe Baylor but again they got dismantled by Okie St so it's an iffy at that

Since it's a playoff I think it should be the best 4 teams. Regardless of anything.

1. FSU
2. Auburn
3. Alabama
4. Toss up between Mich St/Baylor

My bad I forgot the highly formidable Hokies they beat in week 1. Well I'm completely convinced, let's go ahead and put them in no 1 seed.

Biggest wins come against two 4 loss teams and 1 3 loss team. Sounds like championship.

Yep, we're back to eyeball tests again. I guess its better to argue about 4 than 2 teams. I think top 4 of the BCS rankings is a simple solution. Conf championships just get in the way at this point.

Could Alabama beat any team in the country and are they top 5 in talent yes they are. But they play a funky schedule every year. It's time to stop gifting them credentials because it's Bama.

LSU played Oregon and West Virginia in OOC one year and won out the SEC. Bama has never tested itself outside the conference against an elite team. Don't give that Michigan or Va Tech crap.

Bama hasn't done enough to get in. That's all I'm saying. If you want the process to be credible it should be off of the credentials and not reputation. It shouldn't matter if Bama could win the playoffs it's more about have they done enough compared to others to get in. Having their combined opponets record under 500 and losing their biggest game of the year is not enough.

LSU Georgia and Florida could have crushed Notre Dame last year but it was Bama that got to go. Hell LSU and BAMA could beat Florida St but neither team took care of business.

dude, i'm a huge LSU fan, and it even pains me to say this, but Bama has owned CFB for the past 3 or 4 years…

that, and LSU in no way could beat FSU this season….

I'm thinking the same thing. I wonder how the actual committee will see it though since Stanford does have 2 losses (including Utah who isn't horrible but clearly the "worst loss" among any of the contenders).

I'd think it would be a really close call with Michigan State since they'd have the W over Ohio St and only one loss.

However, Stanford has more impressive wins than anyone else period including over ND.

absolutely. It's an unrealistic rule. Not all teams are in conferences, and a conference only supplies you with a fraction of your games. The idea of using a fraction of a season to determine these things is not an idea to be taken seriously.
