Bowman too. They are slightly larger than the rest of them which was a pain in the arse of you organized you cards by team and year which is what I did.
I have a Griffey rookie from when Topps revived the Bowman brand. Unfortunately it's slightly dogeared due to being too big for the page.

91 Fleer might be the single ugliest card ever made. For some dumb reason, that’s the one I collect signatures on. Something that started as a kid and never went away I guess

Topps had the best card design in the 80s, Upper Deck took over in the 90s.
I recently went through and organized about 8 boxes full of random cards I’d collected in the 90s plus my dads from the 70s and 80s. Comparatively speaking, everything from the 90s was an absolute clusterfrick of wildly varying quality, weird designs, and random offshoot sets - Topps, TSC, UD, Score, Pinnacle and its dozens of offshoots, Donruss, Donruss Studio, Fleer, it just goes on forever.
70s and 80s felt like there was a much more distinct order and hierarchy such that Fleet, Donruss, Topps, and UD had some really solid sets. They still hold up as classic while the 90s sets just havent aged well (literally and figuratively)

87 Topps may be the coolest baseball card made.

I have complete unopened sets of 1985 & 1986 Topps.
We used to collect cards as a kid. Baseball, football, hockey, Star Wars, even had some Battlestar Galactica cards from the OG series. I'll have to check the shoebox to see what's in it.

Fleer were cheap. Absolutely nothing special about them.
Fleer Ultra was nice though

I couldn't recall what these were, I haven't seen them selling in my recent travels of browsing sports cards stores. Yeah, they are pretty ugly! For hockey I would say the Score 91-92 cards are pretty shitty. Two of the most unimaginative and uncreative designs I've seen.

'78 was my favorite. You could play a game with the back of the cards, each one had a hit, 2b, 3b, HR, K, error, walk or an out on it. I wore out so many of those cards over the years.
Great times as a kid !

I remember it like it was yesterday, 1989 Upper Deck introduced the world to a premium card. New paper stock. Crisp images on every card. The Nolan Ryan might have been the first “photoshopped” card.
But, that 1991 Stadium Club baseball set just hit on a different level. I can’t believe no one so far has come in here talking about the first time they held THAT Griffey card in their hands. First ever glossy cards. First ever premium, thicker feeling card stock. Like 600 cards in the set and not a single one disappointed with its photo.
Both were game changing, iconic releases. The stadium club set doesn’t have an individual card even in the same solar system as the UD Griffey RC. Take away that card and I don’t think this is a debate. That stadium club set was game changing.

Upper deck was better quality, but I preferred the Topps cards from that period because they feel like a throwback or at least better tied to the older cards you’d see from the 50s and 60s from a style perspective.

Hard to beat the upper deck hologram cards.
