Love to walk, just nobody else does so I always end up riding.

There are a bunch down here. Oak Harbor is one I've always wanted to walk, and they don't allow it.

Why? Holes far apart from each other?

That, and you have to cross alot of streets through the neighborhood.

I guess it's about liability, not pace.

Ive only been on the caddy end of that, but I really want to play with a caddy as well.

It gives you a great perspective of when to cross the caddie line, and stop a person from doing something stupid!

You learn a lot about people. Some people just want someone to carry the bag, some want the whole caddy experience, and some just want someone to talk to.

ETA: I forgot my favorite group of people. The people who want to to run a loop between them and the clubhouse getting drinks.

Sometimes I walk when I'm alone. But I've got a bum shoulder so I have to have a pull cart, I can't carry my bag or my shoulder will prevent me from playing by hole 11

I would rather walk but rarely do because noone else wants to. That and the course I usually play would be a tough walk

I've never played in them, but are the LGA Amateur and mid amateur walking tournaments? Someone I know qualified last year and brought a mutual friend of ours to caddy. Was he just going along for a cart ride?

I don't mind walking at all, it just so much easier to keep pace with a cart

I hate letting people play through because I'm walking and they're riding

They let you use a cart at the mid.

Yep, the walk to driving range/#1, 4 green to 5 tee,
6 green to 7 tee, clubhouse to #10, and 15 green to 16 tee would be quite the hike. It's doable but all that would probably add at least half a mile

One or two people it's usually slower, with 4 or 5 it is definately quicker to walk depending on how the course is laid out
