Drake Maye

He may actually lead the Tar Heels to their first ACC football championship in 42 years

I'm not an LSU fan, but Harold Perkins, and it's really not close. I also was impressed with Ajay Allen at Nebraska prior to his injury.

Nick Singleton...doing what he's doing while splitting time (with another freshman) is impressive. Might already be the best in the country.

Drake Maye

This is the correct and only answer.

He leads the nation in total offense (4000 yards), is tied for first in TD passes with CJ Stroud (34 versus only 3 ints) and ranks 3rd in passer rating.

He has carried a crappy UNC team on his back to 9-1 record, high ranking and tentative favorite to win the ACC.

Drake Maye if you include Redshirt Freshmen. Judkins if only true Freshmen….but season is not over yet. Perkins coming on quickly.

To clarify, Maye is a redshirt freshman, but with the numbers he’s putting up you can’t really argue it. Dude should be the Housman front runner right now.

Why isn’t Drake Maye on that list? He may as well go to New York for the Heisman ceremony

ETA: My bad didn’t know Drake was a RS Freshman

Drake Maye is the only answer to this question, he should be the Heisman favorite. Shouldn't matter that he's a redshirt freshman, he threw 9 passes last year. He essentially came into the year with the same playing experience as Perkins, Starks, Judkins, etc if I'm not mistaken.

I want to also throw out Richard Reese, RB at Baylor. 5.2 ypc and has 13 TDs on the ground this year.

I think the top three are Maye, Perkins, and Judkins though.

I’m an LSU homer, but Perkins is single handed my keeping LSU relevant.

He also has contributed since the first snap of the season. Many others mentioned here have not.

Sure it should. He's already been through one more spring practice and fall camp along with off season workouts. It's a obvious advantage to be in the system especially for a QB

The answer is Harold perkins.

It’s not even close

How do you know it’s Perkins and not even close? Have you watched just as much footage on 5 other impact freshmen?

Or are you just assuming that since he’s so damn good, there’s no way anther freshman can be better?

Drake Maye is having a better season than Perkins

Nicholas Singleton is also having one hell of a season at PSU
