I think that's who Paul would want to replace him

Do you really think LSU would fail with him at the helm?
Are you replying to the wrong person? If not, please link to where I said LSU would fail with him as head coach. Better still, link to where I've said anything about your coach. Thanks.

Only a handful of kids have done that in the last decade for us. Let's not act like this isn't happening all over the country. This myth that LSU is more talented than everybody else needs to die. TCU is doing just fine

Won't even try to spell it. But TCU has the best baseball Coach. Imagine what that guy would do at LSU where kids pass up big money to be a Tiger.

not arguing against schloss, hes certainly one of the best but you are underestimating the benefit of coaching at a private school that is committed to baseball. he is routinely getting guys to play for him that were drafted in the top 5 rounds.

Rick Heller - Iowa

You have to know a bit about Iowa baseball first to appreciate what he's done there so far.

- Iowa has been playing baseball since 1890 - Heller has been HC since 2014
Before Heller Iowa had made the NCAA Tournament only THREE times (last in 1990)
In only four seasons at Iowa, Heller has already led the Hawkeyes to the NCAA Tournament TWICE

- before Heller Iowa had only finished above .500 TWICE from 1997-2013
In 4 seasons under Heller, Iowa has finished over .500 EVERY season.

-led Iowa to their first ever Big Ten Conference Tournament Championship this season.

I think Dan McDonnell should be in the discussion, especially if UofL wins the Championship. Before McDonnell arrived, Louisville had made only 1 NCAA Tournament appearance in our history.

Since his arrival in 2007....
-10 NCAA Tournaments
-4 CWS Appearances
-15 straight Regional wins dating back to 2015
-ACC Atlantic Champions all 3 years we have been in the ACC (Finished first overall this season)
-Big East Champions in 2009, 2010, 2012 & 2013
-2014 AAC Champs the one year we were in that league
-508 wins

I wouldn't trade him for nobody

Did his team win the World Series during that duration?

If I was to hire a baseball coach I would pick Jim Schlossnagle.

Now if the question is what coach has achieved the most that's Pat Casey.

But Paul has a higher win pct, more national coach of the year honors and more cumulative conference titles in two separate baseball conferences

If this question was asked 2 years ago I'd say George Horton. But they floundered this year.

I'm going to say it's between Corbin, OSullivan and Schlossnagel. With CPM in that next tier.

Paul coaches the premier college baseball team, while Pat has twice as many national titles while at Oregon State, which hadn't been to the College World Series in the 50 years before he took over.

What Casey has done at Oregon St. is crazy. His success led Oregon to bringing baseball back.

Not diminishing Pat's accomplishments, I don't see much logic in diminishing Paul's tenure considering he's maintained the high level of team performance that Skip started with 5 CWS appearances, 4 SEC championships, 6 SEC tourney tournaments, 72% win pct and help build Notre Dame into a viable baseball contender.

We've won one with Paul and we're always in contention, back in Omaha this year. I think it's reasonable expectations for LSU fans to believe we should win every year or every other, I don't believe it's reasonable to consider Paul a bad coach by any means when he's won us a title and maintained excellence in our performance consistently.

I don't think saying Pat Casey has accomplished more with his program is diminishing what PM has done at LSU.

The only thing he's accomplished more than Mainieri is one more CWS title, Mainieri exceeds him in win pct and national coach of the year honors, plus he's attained massive success with two separate programs in two separate conferences.
