I get it, but I personally think it is a bit overblown. Dallas couldn't run the ball (no surprise here). Tony Romo did everything but sell popcorn at the game yesterday.

I bet she does. Archie probably follows Ole Miss and his sons and doesn't give a shite about any other team. And she's smarter than Archie.

To throw a touchdown pass, I'd take Archie over Condi.

To evaluate teams, I'd take Condi.

Again, there is no indication that he knows more about what is going on in CFB RIGHT NOW than anyone else. What games does he watch? Does he sit down and watch a Thursday night Tulane game on FS1? Does he stay up late Saturday night to see PAC 12 games? Does he watch games on BTN? Can he name a starting QB for a school like Utah State? Can he name every team in every FBS conference? Does he read multiple preseason magazines, in season blogs, teams sites, etc?

There are several posters here that do that every single week and they certainly know more than a dumb shite like Pollack who last year asked on air if a Heisman winner had every played in a lowly bowl such as the Cotton when he was giving reasons why JFF shouldn't win. Never mind that RG3 played in the Alamo the year before or that Lou Holtz who was sitting right next to him had coached a Heisman winner in the Cotton.

Again, just b/c you played the game doesn't mean you know a damn thing about what is currently going on in the sport. Same as you don't need to have played football at a high level to be able to tell what all teams are good.

You realize that former players often make the worst analysts don't you?

Just b/c somebody played well doesn't mean they know dick about what is going on in that sport now or are willing to put in the time to break down a team properly.

If only we had many years of Archie giving commentary on college football to judge whether he knows his stuff or not...

Archie knew enough football to tell San Diego to not draft Eli. How'd that work out for Eli?

Archie was looking out for his kid. Football knowledge had nothing to do with it.

I find the former football players tend to be a little bit better than the likes of those Around the Horn or Pardon the Interruption fellas.

Being on CBS at the half doesn't automatically make you more knowledgeable about the current state of CFB as a whole.

Disliking an organizations staff and preferring your son play in the biggest NFL media market does not mean you also know how the Big 12's depth stacks up vs the Big 10.

I'm not even saying Archie shouldn't be on the panel or that his knowledge sucks. I'm saying that just b/c he has been a great player and still talks about it now and then doesn't mean he can put in less effort or automatically know more about what is going on in the sport as a whole than somebody who never played.

I didn't read the whole thread, but the medias coverage of this kid was ridiculous and I feel led to most of the things going on with him.

Right because of her extensive background in football analysis, breaking down game film, coaching, playing, game coverage, evaluating talent, and long career in the sport of football.

Tony Romo- pulling a typical Romo move at the end of a fantastic performance against Denver.

they wouldn't have even been in the position to win if he doesn't have an insane game with +500 yards passing and 5 TD's.

look at the QB's Denver has had to play. Not one of them was able to lead an offense that could keep pace with Peyton and Co.

Romo doesn't deserve to lumped into this conversation at all IMO.

he was also sacked 4 times.

The Dallas O-line hasn't exactly been a group that has protected very well the last few years either.

Wait there are actually people defending the absurd selection of Condoleeza Rice to a college football playoff committee?

I spent 4 years hating Pollack at UGA but I'm glad someone isn't afraid to point out the ridiculousness.

It's no secret that Pollack hates women.

He hung out in Coates bathrooms.

The comment is not, "who played the worst this weekend," the comment is about "who had the worst weekend". Like it or not, people kept saying all throughout that game that Romo will blow it at the end (just for one small example in this universe, check out the td.com in-game thread), and what happened at the end, he threw an intercetption. That doesn't mean that Romo sucked all game, it just means that he still can't shake his reputation of being bad when it matters the most.

Last year in the playoffs, a Denver defensive back made the worst defensive play in NFL playoff history. But who's reputation took the biggest hit, Peyton Manning's. Peyton throws and interception late in overtime, and now people still post his career playoff record. I don't even know the defensive back's name, but I know that Peyton Manning's record is 9-11 in playoff games.
