I'd go PP, Harris, and a healthy Vontae Davis

Verrett from San Diego never gets mentioned in these discussions but he's criminally underrated

There is no such thing as a shut down corner in today's NFL. The rule changes and the proliferation of WR position make it obsolete to pay any cb a huge amount of money.

There are seriously 10 or more WRs in today's NFL that are unstoppable by any of the current CBs.

Yea, this isn't true.

The WRs are far better than any of the CB s in today's NFL. We've all seen the Julio's have career days against the Patrick Peterson's.

There is not one CB that can stop Julio, AJ Green, Antonio Brown etc. The talent is all playing WR.

Yeah, Chris Harris Jr is definitely one.

It's hard to tell how good they really are given today's rules, though.

Patrick Peterson just stepped up into the elite corner position last season. he struggled with plenty of WRs before that.

We saw Sherman shadow Brown for most of the game last year and give up 24 yards and an interception.

Peterson held both Green and Brown to under 30 yards last year

Norman:

DeAndre Hopkins caught only two passes for 24 yards on seven targets against the former Panther when they met. Dez Bryant caught only one pass for 6 yards on five targets. In the Super Bowl, Demaryius Thomas was held without a catch all game when Norman was covering him

Agreed, and I've been critical of him in the past.

I didn't see all of the targets, but D-line pressure and incompetent QB play is generally the only thing that can stop today's monster WRs. If you think CBs actually stand a chance against any of the top WRs then you are mistaken.

A good throw and a good WR will embarrass the best CBs every time. There is almost nothing they can do, but try to make it difficult.

It's like an elite scorer in basketball. There is really nothing you can do ,but try to make it tough for them and hope they miss.

When Xavier Rhodes has been targeted this season, he's allowed an NFL passer rating of 0.0. 3 for 10 for 23 yards, 0 TD, 1 INT and 1 PD.

It changes constantly because there is so much luck involved in playing corner because its such a hard position. SO probably whoever has been good over several years rather than someone who has been great over less time.
