This comes up in most women’s sports threads so let’s lay it out there MSB -

Pick sports that you play, at your peak, which would you dominate the most and which would you be the worst at?

Best - Women’s Hockey
Worst - Women’s Golf - I’m probably the best right now at golf I’ve ever been and I still am absolutely garbage with the short game, no way I could compete on tour.

I don't play basketball well but am 6'6" and 260 lbs. I am convinced I could make a WNBA roster tomorrow and lead the league in personal, flagrant, and technical fouls. Also rebounds.

I don't think I'd do well in any other sport against actual athletes. I could maybe be competitive in tennis, but would certainly lose to the more skilled players.

A team of LPGA players would be a force at high level high school boys golf. A high level high school boys basketball team would walk away with the WNBA title.

Worst: Golf or tennis.

I think anything relying on athletics is going to be a walk for most high level high school boys.

I played fairly high level hockey and played against the Women’s Olympic team when I was 15 and we absolutely walked that game but sports relying on finesse/skill like putting or bowling or darts I think I I’m getting worked.

Tennis is an interesting one I think there is definitely some mid-high level amateurs that would do well

In high school, me and my buddy somehow ended up in a game of 2 on 2 with a couple girls on the basketball team. One of the girls was like the captain of the team, a track star, and basically the best female athlete in the school.

My buddy was a decent athlete, played some football, but he was complete arse at basketball. Totally uncoordinated, couldn’t dribble, didn’t know how to shoot. I was a really good athlete, but didn’t play much basketball.

We dominated them purely with athleticism. They couldn’t do anything.

It’s actually hilarious. How far down would you have to go to find a top 25 men’s team that the WNBA champs could beat?

I don’t think I could dominate any women’s pro sport, but I do think I could compete for a roster spot on an indoor volleyball team. I’ve played (for fun) against D1 men’s players so I have decent expectations of my game. And yes women’s golf would be the worst, all day long. You need to put in so many hours to be good at golf and I’m not doing that.

Best? No idea. In my prime, 5’11”, 205, probably basketball or volleyball.

Worst- softball, bowling, golf, tennis, etc. Anything that requires more skill than athleticism.

My coworkers and I were discussing this the other day… we all played basketball in high school but not anymore and we are convinced we could beat a good college team.

The worst for everyone in this thread that didn’t play college golf of high level high school golf would be golf.

Unless we are including a gymnastics.

The other one would be the marathon or other long distances. Not sure anyone here besides Pedro or Tigercross could run a sub 1:10 half marathon or come close

A team of good high school basketball players whose very best player got offers from the worst D-1 programs and the rest either got D-3 (all had excellent grades) or no offers at all, often beat a top 5 women’s basketball team that featured two national team players.

They did lose from time to time though.

Hard to think of one I would own. I've never played golf or tennis. I'd be sucking wind by halftime if I tried to play soccer where I would at least have a size advantage.

Would have to be the LFL where I would have a size advantage. But the viewers would need eye bleach.

I'd be the worst at basketball. I'm taller than the average woman, but definitely not taller than the average WNBA player. I can't dribble, shoot, or defend.

18 yr old me could make national team in softball. i was a great fielder and hit for power. i was a star at hardball from age 6. i got picked 1st or 2nd always. i could hit a ton.
i suspect that all very athletic guys have a sport or two that they could beat women on up to national team.

worst
any female pro bowler is way better than me on my best day.

i read about a 10 yr old boy who rolled some 300s.
i never saw 200.

I would think with some time to prep I could beat most women in my weight class in MMA if I could avoid getting grapplefricked.

I played professional golf for a decade including qualifying for a US Open and several Korn Ferry Tour events.

I couldn’t consistently beat the LPGA players with which I usually practiced and played.
