Fair Park has had quite a number of players in different sports going way back!

At one time St Aug had more players in the NFL than any other HS.
Karr has produced a lot of talent.
John Curtis, but if I didn't know any better, I would assume they would put out a lot more talent that they have.
I have only seen them play one time and this was in the 90s when I was a teenager. At the time I thought they looked like a college team because when the defense came off the field no one on defense played on offense, but I have been told that many of the kids on their team have been playing in their system since 5th-6th grade. And if a player gets hurt or when players graduate, they are able to fill in their spot with someone with a similar skillset who knows the system.
The only players I can think off from there.. Joe McKnight of course. I think Duke Riley went there.
West Monroe put out some takent.

The Chief was the all time leading scorer in high school history for a long time. To say that Randy Livingston is the best (Period) discounts lots of great players.
The Chief was never the all time leading scorer in high school history. Greg Procell has held the title since his graduation in 1970. Procell scored almost as many points in his senior season as Chief did his whole high school career.

Ed Reed, NFL hall of fame
Justin Jefferson, NFL offensive player of the year.
Mike Scifres, San Diego punter and one of the best punters of his era… yea Destrehan high hands down.
Not to mention the many other great athletes to come out in the last 15 years that have been so impactful. I think one of the best was a dude that went to Tulsa that nobody knows. Damaris Johnson. He woulda been a beast at LSU

So nobody from St Aug on that list holds a candle to Ed or Justin at the NFL level
If we go by this criteria, it almost has to be Newman

Not true...
He is from the Lower 9th Ward( i know his mother, aunt and grandmother) and did attend Holy Cross for 8th & 9th grade.
Transferred to Aug for 10th grade. Had to sit out that football season.
Played varsity@ Aug for 2 years, 11th and 12th grades..
Jr year upset John Ehret and Leonard Valentine...
Lost in quarter finals to Tommy Hodson and Central Lafourche..
Sr.year Aug was ranked #1 in the state.
Coach Percy Duhe @ John McDonogh turned St.Aug in for work study aid to student athletes!
Aug was placed on NO PLAYOFF PROBATION !!
The genesis for this was a group of kids from the 7th Ward, St.Bernard Projects & Phillips Jr.High DID NOT attend John McDonogh( their district school).
Coach Duhe investigated how the kids were paying tuition @ Aug and reported his findings to the LHSAA..
I was in California then but i just confirmed this information from an Aug player from the class of 1984..

Doug was @ Grambling from 1974-1977..
Trumaine was good @ Grambling but #1
Future NFL WR Sammy White was the # 1 receiver and top target for Doug in 1974 & 1975..
#2 you had: Robert Woods(Carver HS NO/Gram/NFL)...Carlos Pennywell(Capt Shreve HS/Gram/NFL)...
#3 Remember Mike Moore was also a very good receiver at the tight end position Doug's senior season.
Doug was 4th in the Heisman voting in Spring 1978 which was after the 1977 football season.
Doug was drafted in 1978..
Mike Williams was the QB for the last GSU team to have double digit NFL draftees.
That was the Mike Williams, Trumaine Johnson, Everson Walls Championship Team..
Trumaine was the top target for Mike NOT Doug..
He piled up receiving yards AND his 2 best receiving seasons well after Doug had graduated!!
