Magic Johnson
Michael Jordan
Larry Bird
David Robinson
Bill Russell

or

Dwayne Wade
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Kevin Durant
Dwight Howard

There are so many more combinations to use, but which of these two would you rather have as your dream starting 5?

Feel free to come up with another starting 5 as well.

Note: The older players are in their primes for this discussion.

If you can pick and choose anyone from the past, I'd take this team over the current group.

The old guys.

They have an advantage at least 3 of the 5 positions basing it solely on who was the better player.

The one up for grabs is Durant/Robinson but I assume Durant will end up as the better player on the all time scale.

Shaq, does he get to be with the old or the young team?

If it's young team, I may like that team more or as much.

Paul
Wade/Kobe
Lebron
Duncan
Shaq

I was wondering about that as I was thinking about a dominant C. I mean he retired, albeit recently, but would that still be considered "yesterday"?

eta: I think I'll ride with Kareem, because Shaq is too recent.

Switch out Hakeem for Robinson, and I'd expect the old team to win at least 8 of every 10 games.

Stupid thread of course you would take the team of all stars from the past 60 years vs a team right now.

David Robinson would eat up Howard and spit him out.
