He is definitely more famous in the world than Brady and Tiger

Not sure he has transcended his sport like some of those other athletes.

I can't stand LeBron, but no way this dude is more famous than that arrogant bastard.

Federer and Nadal might be somewhere up there.

It’d be higher if he weren’t such a douche

Which one on that list isn't a douche?

Well if you want to know if he transcends sports, I’ve never heard of him and I could tell you plenty about the others on that list

If we’re including Ali, then we have to include other athletes who have died and that list gets even bigger.
Since Jordan is in your list, then we have to include other living athletes who have long since retired.
There’s no way Hamilton is ahead of
1. Jordan
2. Ali
3. Pele
4. Maradona
5. Ronaldo
6. Messi
7. LeBron
I would also say he is definitely behind
8. Kobe
9. Federer
10. Nadal
11. Tiger
And probably behind
12. Brady
13. Usain Bolt
14. Michael Phelps
1-4 and 8 may or may not count based on your criteria.
Then there are a lot of people who I think are harder to gauge but probably close (in either direction) like Durant, Giannis, Neymar, etc.

F1 has 1.5 billion viewers worldwide
Golf has a few tens of millions

Brady doesn't belong.

The highest number I saw for total season viewership was way below that, about a third of that, with the numbers generally down in the past decade.
But that is counting total viewership and individual race viewership is peaking at around 100 million.

Yeah but it moves around the world to different audiences
The Masters had under 10 million viewers last year in the US and a couple million elsewhere

Yeah I mean the Super Bowl pulled in 1.3 billion viewers this year. That same day an F1 each has like 1.9 billion.

The F1 number is just an internal marketing spin figure.
They take their average weekly number and multiply by the number of races. 70 million in a week, 22 races. 1.54 billion.
Clearly that is a nonsense number and the same methodology would have many more Americans watching NFL games in a year than simply exist.

This guy also has Brady no.2 in the world. There’s absolutely no way an NFL player, even a guy like Brady, is in the top 5 most famous athletes in the world

Brady isn't even more famous than Shaq in the US.

I would guess that any male adult over the age of 25 that has access to tv and internet can point out Tiger Woods in a crowd.
Also, Tiger was the face of Nike for about 20 years. That’s a huge factor.
