Hopefully the twins and not the Brewers.

I could see them paying above others because they tasted the playoffs last year, still need to upgrade their rotation, and missed on Yu.

I dont think its the dollar amount, as much as it is the length of the deal.

Brew Crew is my bet. Minnesota the other likely option. Could see an AL west team like Seattle or Texas as a dark horse

I think Arrieta to the Twins makes the most sense. Especially after the Santana uncertainty.

The Yankees may also make a push to sign him after missing out on Darvish.

would like to see the twins add Arrieta and a guy like John Lackey tbh

Arrieta
Berrios
Santana
Lackey
Gibson

beefed up pen, good defensively, good offense. they would be a threat in that weak division

I could definitely see the Phillies, or God forbid the Cardinals swooping in and signing him.

It's Arrieta and Lynn for 3/4 spots.

Minnesota,Milwaukee,etc

If the Years come down, i could see a couple more teams jump in for 2 years 40-48mil. High APR, but low years.

They would be? They already are

Same with the Brewers. If one gets Arrieta and the other Lynn. Those teams are going to be set.

I love what Jake was able to do with and for my Cubbies, but I think baseball folks see the red flags and warning signs.

I'll give him this, I though he was done mid-way through last year. His ERA was at 5 from June of 2016 to June of 2017 but he battled back at the end of last year admirably and did not embarrass himself in the post-season, in fact pitched the Cubs only win over the Dodgers, albeit against a curious lineup Roberts put out for that game.

But the velocity has declined the last two years and if that happens again, a long term deal is scary for any team.

Hope he gets a good deal, hope he does well, but gotta say I would not fear facing him.

They return practically the same team that finished 17 GB of Cleveland. They need to show a committment to winning by signing a big pitcher or two

Brewers really need 2 pitchers w Nelson hurt. You got a bunch of 3s and 4s and whatever Gallardo is. Regression likely comes calling for Anderson, Davies and chacin. Those guys would be easier to stomach w an Arrieta and Nelson.
