yea look at Shaw they are 1-9 and in the playoffs

Class A has teams hosting playoff games with a 3-7 record and the usual 0-10 team in the playoffs. Whole thing is a total joke thanks to Booker and the rest of the idiotic principals.

Got classified as select due to whatever percentage of students are out of district.

Strangely enough Scotlandville is also select but Madison Prep is considered non-select.

that is a BS rule... it should be one kid outside of your district makes you select, bc you never know if that one kid is a stud who can swing the state championship

Somebody was bitching the other day about non-select teams getting in the playoffs with losing records. Several sub .500 teams in the select playoffs too.

So 0-10 Cohen getting in the non competitive bracket is the same as a Few 4 win teams in the competitive bracket?

Never heard of non-competitive bracket; must be private school code for public school?

Scotlandville, McKinley and Byrd are select because a certain percentage of their magnet students come from outside their attendance zones

Madison Prep is considered non-select.

That's because of a dumb lhsaa rule on charter schools. Madison Prep can take kids from all over the parish but they also can't turn anyone away

That's what happens when the LHSAA decided they needed 9 playoff brackets. Of course its going to be watered down for both select and non select

How is the home team determined past the first round?

In a perfect world, the higher seed is always home. It's not a perfect world though. When an upset occurs, the team that traveled is given a home game. So in theory the 32 seed could travel to #1, win, and be home the next 3 games until the Dome because everyone they play hasn't traveled yet

Yes...it's incredibly flawed.

Of course, what stadium they will play in is anyone's guess. Only so many stadiums in the New Orleans area for teams to use.

so your saying that after the first round the lowest seeded teams win a game always get a home game?

No. It all depends on who has traveled and who hasn't. That's how your team, #17 Ponchatoula was able to host #1 West Monroe last year. You traveled week 1 to #16 and won. WM was at home. So you got the home game round two. If all things are equal, higher seed gets to be home.

I just tried to type out how the home/away shite works but it's so complicated that I couldn't put it in words right

I think it's pretty fair tbh
