What's with all the WNBA threads today? This is making this board unbearable.

The nba is making plenty of money right now and losing money on the WNBA is not a problem for them.

IMO, it would have to be costing the NBA a lot more than it currently does. The NBA makes so much money, the WNBA would have to be costing them half of what they make or more i would think.

It will continue, ESPN tried to get out of showing the games, and NBA forced their hand.
NBA is losing 20+million a year from WNBA. But they cannot cut the cord, backlash would hurt their already glass house.
They are stuck paying for a shite league, where 12 dykes show up to stalk the players.

The PR of dumping the league would cost more than what they're losing on the league itself.

But the bad PR is rising in regards to "equal pay". We know why the WNBA doesn't get paid as much. But how far will it be pushed? No way the league and franchises can pay for all of that.

You have a bad understanding of the USWNT ordeal. The women's team was pulling in more revenue, hence the outrage. The WNBA pulls in zero, so there is no argument.

I can't imagine it's much of an investment for the NBA. Lord knows those players don't make any money. I can't see where it's a bad thing to have a professional women's basketball league in America. Dunno why it gets so much hate. You don't like it, don't watch. I have zero interest, other than liking to hear about ex-LSU players doing well.

No, I get all that. I am just saying. Will the NBA cave to the women's demands if they were to say...strike, or cause enough of a stir that makes them look really bad. Or will the NBA just open up their books and let everyone see exactly why the women don't get paid the same....
