Well I guess so if you believe all of the horseshite the media was spoon feeding you.

Reagan got elected twice in California right in that period.

California was a helluva lot better then than now.

Another one got loose from the Poli board. Kudos for somehow shoe-horning California into this convo though. You're definitely not a stereotype.

Back to the topic. I wish I could have have witnessed the moon landing. I feel like the previous generation had the good and the bad, the moon landing and Vietnam War, equal rights conflicts while my generation has had 9/11 and uhhhh... high def televison? I want to see an American on Mars.

Believe it or not, there was a time when almost all Americans were proud to be Americans.

There was FAR more national divide and social upheaval in 1969 than there is today.

If you watch the moon trip backward, it’s about some guys who went swimming in the Pacific Ocean, then flew out for a round of golf.

How many people do you think looked up and tried to find the moon during this?

This thread about the America's pastime and the moon landing sure went off the rails and into a weird direction real quick like.

Coolest part of that WAPO article is the story of the young boy at the game that later went on to become as astronaut.
