The Grizz had a choice a few years ago and this is the result of that choice. Go young and build a young team around Big Spain & Mike that could grow into a good contender team, or put all your chips in old vets who could buy them a few years and a few playoff runs to make some cash.
Memphis will be back to sucking in a year or two and the fun will be over in the Grindhouse.

Worst decision they made was bringing back Chris Wallace. The Vince Carter signing was a killer (they bought damaged goods) and the Jeff Green trade was a killer.
Gasol just signed a 5 year deal and Conley will do the same. As long as you have those two the team will still be pretty damn good.

Glad to see you back my dude
I'm just glad Lester is on the season early, usually he just pulls a Culotta and waits for the playoffs to start

They may not, but they are good enough to keep you as a 40 win team in the West for the foreseeable future. The rest will just depend on how they build around them.

Worst spot to be, purgatory.

I would strongly disagree. Having your team playing playoff basketball in the West every year is pretty damn great.

Superstar al Horford went off tonight too. 14/5 what a stud

Ehhh you have two secondary scorers as your main options without anything else. Those two ALONE would maybe be worth 34 wins. Gasol has the skills to a 20/10 guy just like good ole Pau was. He plays a different style though.
Conley is a great PG. No doubt. He's more of a compliment player though. Would be perfect in a system like SAY or Chicago where has guys to lean on for scoring and let Mike pass the rock and run his offense and tempo.

Been watching teams win rings the entire time they have been here. The years they have made the playoffs have been a 1000x more enjoyable than when they were horrible.
Having a championship or bust nature when following the NBA would be a fricking nightmare, especially when you are fan of a small market team and don't have some once in a generation talent.

Not a superstar, but he was the best player on the court on Tuesday vs ATL

The last few years following the Blazers have been the best moments of my sports life. Lillard's rookie year was probably the most entertaing too and we weren't even good. Who knew we'd beat the Dwight Howard Rockets by adding Rolo to the roster the follwoing year? Or that we'd be a serious threat last year if healthy? That's what makes it fun

that's your rebuttal? Talking out of both sides of your mouth at it's fricking finest.

You could throw in Jarnell Stokes in there,
Maybe not. They're apparently trading players who are in their developmental list, rather than trying to build them.
But yeah, they're really, really contenders. There is no early panic or anything, for a team in decline.
