a lot of guys with great stuff in AA turn into 4th and 5th starters in the MLB. Or relief pitchers.
Its really not comparable.
AA may have some of the best prospects of any class in the minors, but its not better than MLB pitching.

Clearly, Harper is better than Davis. But I'm just point out that what makes Davis a "Quad A" player is that K-rate. Major League pitchers will destroy a hitter who has a high K rate EVEN IF he demonstrated good patience in the minors. Davis had high walk rates as well (and actually, not bad in the majors).
The irony here is that players that strikeout a ton also tend to have lots of power. It's not an entirely bad thing to strikeout a lot. It's both a red flag and an indication of power.

One thing I find fascinating is the type of strikeouts.
Sometimes, high walk guys DO K a lot, because they work counts deep and see tons of pitches. Are they K'ing on the 9th pitch of an AB, on a 3-2 count, and looking?
Or, is it pitch 4, down 1-2, swing and miss.
I'd say one of those was a good, somewhat productive at bat. The other, not.

Harper is much more of a Ryan Howard type of hitter, low average but MONSTER power. Also the fact that he is a douche bag is only going to make him that much more of a superstar.
The Nationals expect him to have Howard power with a good average. So no he is not a Howard type.Behind Mauer, Harper has the best looking left handed swing. I find Howards swing to be long and ugly.

Beltre was one of the most phenomenal prospects of our lifetime. He's also a perennial all-star
Beltre has only made two all-star games. I would not call that perennial.

I'm a huge fan of Rendon and felt awful when he broke his leg. He was such a stud at Rice. Great, great college player - I'm rooting for him to make it as a pro.
He's gonna be a good one.
Where's he going to play (assuming Zimmerman and the organization agree on the extension.. which sounds like it will be six years)?

Desmond will be traded when rendon is ready. Dc hates desmond.
