With the college conferences postponing their season....what's the chances of LHSAA cancelling or postponing the season?

Spinoff.....if they do cancel....do you think a private league will form for high school age kids to play football? Would be no different then these youth baseball tournaments that happen every weekend.

100%.

The difference is it costs (on the cheap end) around $500-$700 to equip one high school football player with pads/gear.

I think they are pretty high honestly, they are more cautious and have more to lose than to gain than college athletics

Much slimmer unless cancellation comes from governor, bese or school boards. Hs football much simpler logistics

With the rate that players are moving to MAIS schools, very likely.

As I understand it, phase 3 they start full pad practices. End of phase 3, they start games.

I think the odds are very high that high school football will be canceled. anyone think they would give these athletes another year of eligibility?

It’s already an impossibility that any lhsaa football is played this year considering that Gov Ricardo is closer to sending us back to phase 1 than phase 3. Lhsaa said no football game until phase 4!!!

Dude it's high school. You get 4 years. Go a prep school if you need another year.

It is being discussed in Florida and other states. Keep in mind these kids missed three months of real class time last year. Hopefully they will not lose any more real class time this year

Well considering the absolute earliest we can play is October 8th, it's already been postponed. They've also cancelled all scrimmages and jamborees. So to answer your question, 100%.

Also, right now in some parishes if 1 coach tests positive the entire staff is on 14 day quarantine. If 2 students in a class quarantine that class and all of those students teachers (Some of whim may be coaches) are on 14 day quarantine. LHSAA can throw out whatever dates they want unless things loosen up significantly it’s not gonna happen. Only way there’s a prayer is if students are virtual and sports are allowed to continue. Once kids are back on campus it’s only a matter of time with the quarantine rules in different parishes.
