After Michael Jordan's second retirement he did a stint as Director of Basketball Operations for the Washington Wizards where he controlled all aspects of the Wizards' basketball operations. After mixed results Jordan decided to return to the court and made his second comeback in 2001 for the Wiz. After said comeback's mixed results Jordan retired permanently and bought the majority share of the Charlotte Bobcats. He likes motorcycles and has a superbike team.

After injury plagued years from 2013 to 2015 Kobe Bryant went into 2015 knowing his career was coming to an end. His biggest accomplishments for the season may have been passing John Stockton for most seasons with one team and scoring a league wide best 60 points in one game. He was also voted to the all-star team. Kobe spends most of his time these days in philanthropy. Bryant has established the ASAS and also oversees philanthropy in China. Bryant established Kobe Inc. to own and grow brands in the sports industry. On August 22, 2016, Bryant and his business partner Jeff Stibel launched Bryant-Stibel, a venture capital firm focused on different businesses including media, data, gaming, and technology, with $100 million in funding.

Again, what do you think Lebron's twilight years and retirement will be like?

I think he'll retire in 2 years. Unless he can see himself coming off the bench on a competitive squad, I see him retiring right when he realizes he can't carry his squad through the east anymore.

I remember hearing through a friend of friends thing a few years back that the deal with Gilbert to get him back was part-ownership in the future. I'm guessing that fell through by now if it did have any merit.

No chance. He will be like a David west bouncing from SAS to GSW. Hopping from a a team he thinks can win it all to the next. Looking to piggy back. Heck we are already maybe seeing him want to piggy back (till CC said thanks but no thanks) and he is still probably the best player in the league.

He is certainly still the best player in the league by a wide margin.

I agree. Idk enough about his businesses or investmensts, but I know he wants to be billionaire. If he reaches that point, I could defentily see him purchasing the Cavs later on in his life.

I think initially when he retires, he’ll be doing a lot of business, endorsements, and some small acting roles. I don’t see him being a broadcaster or media type.

Yep he will stay around in the game as long as he can. The business side is already rolling with his posse.

His game is already adjusting. He can't elevate like he used to, so you see him using strength and footwork around the basket more.

His basketball IQ is off the charts, so he'll start until he retires (barring a major injury). This dominant run this year makes me think he has at least 2-3 super dominant years and then another 4-5 productive years if he wants them.

Outside basketball, he'll never be as loved as Jordan, but he has built an offcourt empire with film production, Klutch and his business work. He'll continue that when retired. He should buy the Browns.

Hee wants to retire on top. I don't see what's wrong with that and who knows what injuries may lie on the horizon for him. I know he takes great care of his body but at some point there's nothing he can do after all of the minutes he's played.

I think he'll want to finish his career as at least 3rd all time in points and assists, which would take 3 more seasons at minimum. That would put him with more assists than Magic and more points than Jordan.

ETA: Obviously barring injury.
