BS.
We just won a Ship a few years before and were in the final game. It really didn't bother me losing to the best coach in the game.
The spoiled fans whining about Miles and wanting him fired was far more painful and frustrating to listen to than the loss.
Both Saints playoff losses were far worse to me because we had never been there and won before.

The day the umpteenth former NFL player committed suicide because of chronic traumatic encephalopathy.

Saints/49ers playoff game.
2012 was really a terrible year.
LSU and the Saints both have a chance to win championships. The LSU loss I got over pretty quickly, it just pissed me off, the Saints loss actually put me into a depression. Then, mother-fricking bounty gate happens, with the most draining roller-coaster of a season I've watched.
I think because of all the bull shite of 2012, the Saints winning a Superbowl this season could top the 09 season for me. I am hoping so bad it happens, because I think last year took a few years of life away.
frick 2012, worst year ever.

Well, it didn't.
We beat them once they won the big game.
As I said, in my lifetime we had just won one so it isn't like winning again was going to be nearly as exciting as the first one in 2003 or even the second in 2007.
Most teams dream of 1 chance. We had 2 ships and a 3rd trip in 10 years. As i said. Spoiled fans. I wasn't dancing for joy but it isn't in my top 20 worst sporting events ever. Not even close.
The Katrina Tennessee loss was far worse. We needed a nice boost, thought we had it and then....
Hell, the freaking Jamie Howard 5 fourth quarter ints with 3 run back for tds Auburn loss has to be one of the worst experiences of my football life.

1. Saints-Vikings NFC championship. To get a fricking delay of game penalty after a time-out was inexcusable.
To see someone get fined for a dirty hit on Favre but not get penalized was criminal. To find out later that a bounty was out on Favre and dirty hits cost the Vikings the game was downright garbage.
2. Vikes-Cowboys NFC Championship game 1975 season. A blatant push-off by Drew Pearson wasn't called leading to a game winning TD.

That Saints-49ers game was one of the best games I have ever witnessed.
I can't really call it depressing. It was a roller coaster of emotion

Joe Germaine (Mesa, AZ Hometown) to David Boston (Future AZ Cardinal) to allow Ohio State to beat Jake Plummer ,Pat Tillman, and ASU in 97 Rose Bowl and deny us a National Title. I still hate Ohio State to this day because of this.
Bulls over Suns NBA finals
Steelers over Cardinals Super Bowl. I almost killed my friends gf chucking the remote.
Blues over Coyotes game 7 OT. Had the best team weve ever had and a week before the playoffs Darian Hatcher obliterates Jeremy Roenicks jaw making him mis first 6 games.
1/9. This was really more anger than depression.

The Kentucky game in 2011.
The moment Jordan Jefferson trotted onto the field. The crowd boo'd, sensing what was coming. I knew I wasnt the only one. There was an ominous, depressing feeling that I never could shake from that day until 1/9.
It all started for me at the Ky game

Really ironic now that I go to LSU but when LSU beat Duke in the sweet sixteen in 06 I was so upset.
I was a huge Duke fan and that team was stacked. I thought they were near unstoppable.

probably the Saints-Browns game in 1999.
Tim Couch threw a hail mary that got tipped into the hands of the CLE WR for a TD on the last play.
I mean it was a shitty season, I think the Saints only won like 3 games but I just remember thinking... why God why?
they had already surrendered a tipped pass that was caught for a TD at the end of the first half the week before on a hail mary.
I mean what the frick? That was a rough season.

1/9 sucked pretty bad for a variety of reasons. The game was a summation of probably the biggest scar on Miles' tenure thus far-- completely fricking over a player who had shown tremendous resolve over his career. Moreover, it's very arguable our defense was one of the best ever and better than the one Bama fielded, but there's no real way to know since Bama essentially went up against Reggie Ball in Game 2.
I also got offered 1000+ for my ticket and turned it down, and afterwards was stuck with girls who were still deadset on going to Bourbon (not for long). The silver lining is that the game confirmed the maturation process for me with respect to sports and made me realize how fricking stupid people are about it. I also learned to feel sorry for Bama fans, as well as a lot of LSU fans who take it all so seriously. I enjoy college football a lot, but god damn is it a stupid setup.

1/9 I didn't attend but my parents had tickets and we're not let in. Long story but my brother sold the tickets to them through a website and after they were sold it resold them but my parents got the money back and didn't have to watch that shite show lol

1) 85 Cardinals/Royals WS when Don Denkinger happened - I just could not believe they don't fix a wrong call when they knew it was the wrong call at the time of the game
2) 1991 NHL off-season. NHL arbitrator Judge Edward J. Houston of Ottawa punishes the STL Blues by giving the New Jersey Devils Scott Stevens as compensation for the Blues signing free agent Brendan Shanahan. The Blues would never be the same after this (they went from the NHL's best record to a perennial good but not great team). Conversely, Stevens was already the most dominant defensive force in the NHL and would power the Devils to three Stanley Cups.
3) 2011 season BCS title game - LSU's offense being a complete no-show and the coaching staff refusing to put in either Lee or Mett in the 3rd quarter when JJ was ineffective

1/9
Long as frick version:
I grew up with a different hatred for Alabama than almost all LSU fans. I was raised in a rabid Tennessee family. It's not just my Dad, it's my grandmother cursing Alabama at the dinner table at freaking Easter. I went to every Tennessee-Alabama game in Knoxville, Birmingham, and Tuscaloosa for over a decade. To say it's in my blood is an understatement.
Fast forward to 1/9, I had just graduated from LSU in December and searched for tickets the entire Holidays. What a way to bookend a fantastic time at LSU. We're gonna beat Bama twice to cap an undefeated season against what could be argued as the most difficult single-season schedule ever played. We're gonna do it at home, in New Orleans, and party like it's Mardi Gras.
I got a ticket that Monday morning for way more than I could really afford. I told myself, to hell with it, this is rare. I had to go. Then, with the entire country watching, we shite the bed. We didn't just wet the bed, we shite all over it, smeared it across the freakin wall, and rolled around in it.
I've been on the road for many losses, whether at a UT or LSU road game and nothing compares to how the Bama fans were on that walk back to my truck. They are a lot of great Alabama fans. I'm convinced I walked out with the Walmart-side walker reserved Bama section. Worst experience and most depressing moment as a sports fan.
Rant over. Whew I feel better
